READY FOR A NEW PARADIGM?
FLASH – – IMPORTANT RELEASE – – FLASH
Well, we’ve been dropping hints for several weeks now, asking you to reserve wall space — and the announcement day is finally here. Dozens of leading researchers and organizations have c combined forces to produce and deliver a new look at the globe. For the first time in history, you can own a map that shows the world by peoples rather than by political borders! This is the literal assignment by Jesus in Matthew 28:19-20 — “Make disciples of all nations.” The nations identified on this map are the very nations that apply to Jesus’ commandment today! Why in the world it has taken this long to produce this document, I’ll never know. But it’s here today.

We’re not talking a black and white page that’s 8 1/2 x 11. We’re talking a full color map that’s perfect for your study or church foyer. How can it be perfect for both? Order the 2’x3′ copy for your study or office, then get this — order the 3′ x 5’4″ version for your church foyer or reception area! I’ve got one of these hanging in my office now (a prepublication release) and it’s beautiful. Global Mapping, is giving all the glory to God, but also mentioning that … “This masterpiece could not have been completed without the cooperative effort of a host of strategic partners, including SBC Foreign Mission Board, Summer Institute of Linguistics, Peoples Information Network, Adopt-A-People Clearinghouse, JESUS Film, Gospel Recordings, American Bible Society, WEC International, AD2000 & Beyond, ACMC, AIMS, Brigada, MAF, Campus Crusade for Christ, US Center for World Mission, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and Ruth Foundation. In recognition of these stategic alliances, each of their logos are displayed on the map.”

So, now, for the first time, you have the opportunity to dramatically display the progress of world evangelization for all the peoples of the earth! And this map makes a glaring visual statement about the 10/40 window. Over seven thousand peoples (from Language Mapping System by SIL and GMI) are graphically displayed, each colored by one of five levels of evangelization (from the Southern Baptist’s Integrated Strategic Planning Database). The map also includes a pie chart showing population distribution by level of evangelization.

You can probably order the map from several distribution points — namely those mentioned above. But at this stage, Global Mapping is asking that you not call their switchboards and request one-at-a-time orders. In fact, at this point, the map isn’t even officially for sale! But each of the cooperating partners is able to compile pre-publication “group” orders. So you can order today… without having to pay anything down, and have your map delivered shortly after the first of June!

For those wishing to order as part of the Brigada family, simply email Mission Services Association at 102774.1772@compuserve.com or call toll-free in the USA at 800-655-8524 (fax 423-577-9743). Make sure you tell them which size you’re requesting and how many. Until June 1st, the 24″x36″ size will be $10, delivered to USA addresses and the 36″x 64″ version will be $25, again to USA addresses – postage paid. (Ask for rates for your location.) If we don’t get the quantity for the price break, prices could go up some… but don’t worry. We will. These are landmark productions. Your office wall.. and your appreciation for peoples of the world will never again be the same. We have a church mobilization retreat scheduled for next weekend and I’m taking my copy to really push these things. I think when people walk into your church foyer and see the number of red people group polygons, they’ll realize what a priority world evangelization really needs. Go for it. Call MSA today. And by the way, in case you’re wondering, neither I nor Brigada make a single penny on these maps. No one is. These costs are just covering expenses for full color production and printing. Honest… get it… but don’t wait. These numbers have to be turned in on April 22, the day the maps go to press!

AD2000 & BEYOND CONTINUES TO EXPAND JOSHUA PROJECT MINI-PROFILES
For an example of the kind of links AD2000 & Beyond team members are adding, check out the Yanadi people of South India. Go to their web site at http://www.ad2000.org, select Joshua Project, then click on search by people, then click on “Y” then find Yanadi in the list. Be patient! Sometimes the server is under a heavy load and it takes a while to scroll 1700 peoples through!!! :-) But once you get to the Yanadi mini-profile, page down to the end and click on the other links to get an idea of the possibilities! There are rich color pictures of Yanadi people and an accompanying report from a recent pre-search trip made in concert with Joshua Project 2000.

CONFERENCE WATCH
Have you noticed the brigada-pubs-missionfrontiers conference lately? They’ve grown to include 767 participants, making it the largest sub-conference in the Brigada family. Global-prayer-digest, in hot pursuit, includes 409 subscribers. And in a close third place is the brigada-pubs-gcowenews conference, the channel we use to broadcast on-site consultation reports, like GCOWE’95 in Seoul last May. The channel is still active today for occasional news releases from the AD2000 & Beyond Movement and promises future consultation reports as well, currently with 345 participants and still growing! These and other conferences in the Brigada family — 61 in all — maintain file and message archival capabilities, meaning that even if you’re a late starter, you can still find out just about everything that’s ever happened on the conference by downloading the various archival files in the conference’s file storage area. ATTENTION BIBLE CURRICULUM SPECIALISTS
Bill Hoff billhoff@simon.intertel.hn needs to develop a curriculum for a two year Bible institute in time for Sept. classes. If you’ve got a pattern or an outline or a schedule, he’d appreciate you emailing it to him directly.
Note: Please send it to Bill directly — do not reply to Brigada.

WHERE HAVE ALL THE MISSIONARIES GONE?
World Evangelical Fellowship Missions Commission convenes April 9-13 ReMAP (Reducing Missionary Attrition Project) workshop on issues answering the crucial question, “Why are we losing so many good, long-term missionaries?” ReMAP (an historic study which searches out issues affecting both Western and non-Western missions) is coordinated by Latin American missions leader Rudy Giron (of COMIBAM), under the general direction of Bill Taylor, Director of the Missions Commission. Some 115 leaders from 35 nations will convene at historic All Nations Christian College in England. Peter Brierley, British director of Research Associates will report on the WEF/MC sponsored 13 nation attrition study, supported by 6 nation-specific reports. Then teams go to work under the guidance of WEF/MC staffer Jon Lewis of Argentina. Pray for God’s direction, the sense of the strategic nature of the workshop and sensitivity to not only identify causes of undesirable attrition, but also curative/preventive steps to be taken. For those wanting a report, write to Kathi Graham, WEF, at 103426.1141@compuserve.com.

NEED YOUR MISSIONS PROJECT VIDEO’D???
Contact Bob Kelly at Mission Media Productions. They produce videos for and about missionaries. They do complete productions including shooting on-site, and edit for returning missionaries. They have worked with over thirty groups. They are presently planning trips for 1997 or possibly late 1996, if you are interested. For details, visit their web site http://www.seidata.com/~mmpi or contact Bob Kelly at mmpi@seidata.com or 821 392-2860.

I’VE GOTTA HAND IT TO YOU!
Now here’s a new approach. Rich Liedtke buys used hand tools at garage sales then sends them with work parties or missionaries traveling to the mission field. They are then given to the less fortunate or used in the mission. When asked about the success of his projects, Rich responded, “The tools are well received. (Mother Teresa thanked me for the tools sent recently to her mission work.) I am sending some to Mexico, Argentina and Tanzania in the coming months. I want to encourage others to copy this idea and do it with groups they are aware of. It gives great satisfaction.” Contact Rich at rkliedtke@worldaccess.com.

GLOBAL GLIMPSE
CIS: In four years, 6 million New Testaments and pieces of Christian literature have been distributed in classrooms and 110,000 people have seen the Jesus film in the Commonwealth of Independent States. More than 125,000 have attended seminars on Biblical values, all this in a region which recently was officially atheistic and very restrictive of Christianity.
