KINGDOM CONNECTIONS

Most of us have heard about Interdev’s partnership development seminars intended for missionaries and people group advocates on the “sent side.” But now they have a new partnership education seminar designed for church and organizational leaders interested in a better understanding of the principles driving evangelism/church planting partnerships — for those on the “sender side.” The first “Kingdom Connections: Transforming Your Ministry Through Partnership,” will be held in both in England and the US. The North American “Kingdom Connections” will be held in Atlanta, June 6- 9, 2000. For more info, contact Interdev-US@xc.org. The dates for the UK are 30 May – 2 June 2000; write Interdev-UK@xc.org for info. Space is limited.

WHERE DO YOU FIND BIBLES OR JESUS FILMS?

Brigada autoresponder That’s a great question. In fact, it came up again this past week in a Brigada-peoples inquiry. Randall reminded us that Bibles can be located at http://www.gospelcom.net/ibs/; check the bottom of the page for “complete listing of what’s available.” In addition, Ken has compiled a complete list of sources for scriptures, many of which sell Bibles in various languages. If you’re one of those, write bibles@brigada.org to get a full list of contributors.

Randall also reminded us that the Jesus film can be found at http://www.jesusfilm.org/updates/languages.html and, again, ordering info is at the bottom of the page.

SOURCES FOR CHRISTIAN CLIP-ART

Brigada autoresponder Remember the “old days” (like early 80s) in which you had to use paper copies of Christian clip art, manually pasting them next to odd-sized computer-generated stories? Now we’re into the “next generation” for Christian clip art, where you can download and place computer images instead. And now, “Ken” has made it all the easier for you! You see, Ken has just completed a full study of Christian clip-art sources. For more information, write images@brigada.org.

YOUR LATEST MISSIONS SKIT SCRIPT?

theater masksThat’s what Roger would like to gather. Send your script to RBusPs67@aol.com. He’ll compile them into a single file and log it with us here . . . so others will have access to it too. So . . . in a couple of weeks, count on hearing back from Roger regarding options (okay Roger? :-) ). Again, Roger’s looking for some kind of play, drama, or skit that could help a local church become more convicted, aware and/or informed about world missions.

MISSIONS ENCOURAGEMENT VIA EMAIL

letter and ligntening bolt Each week the prayer and poem list is sent out with 3 to 5 missions prayer requests and a recent poem written by the list moderator, Mert. If you would like people on a non- secure list to pray for an unreached people group or your cross- cultural ministry or would like to pray for such concerns, you are invited to send a blank email to prayer-poem-subscribe@everybody.org. One reader said, “In terms of poetry and missions, Mert is the best I’ve run across!” For a number of sampler email files with missions related poems, send a “Request for Missions Poems” to Mert at mertaka@everybody.org.

Beginning in June, these reflections will begin a chronological trek from Genesis to Revelation. If you would like to apply more of the Biblical wisdom to your part in God’s global mission, you are invited to subscribe by sending a blank email to cross-commission-subscribe@everybody.org. All services are totally free of charge.

SONGS TO THE CREATOR

musical notes The folks at Wiconi International are again excited to announce the release of another anointed and edifying music/worship tape featuring traditional style — First Nations music that honors Jesus Christ. This new recording project is titled, “Songs to the Creator — First Nations Songs of Praise and Worship.”

This CD is a mixture of original traditional style songs of the Coastal People of the Pacific Northwest, Plains First Nations Flute, and blended contemporary/First Nations music. The prayer of the producers, Songs to the Creator Indigenous Music Program, A Division of NAIM Ministries, is that the music will touch the heart of the listener and draw them closer to the Creator God. It’s a very enjoyable sound of worship.

Like Jonathon Maracle’s recent release, Rise Up Mighty Warrior, this is a wonderful example of how lovers of Jesus can use the traditional sounds and styles of First Nations people to create beautiful songs of praise and worship to Jesus Christ. You can order your copy of Songs to the Creator from Wiconi International by emailing wanbli@aol.com.

Thanks to for hosting the Brigada mailing list.
Emphasis is placed on items relating to unreached peoples and challenges faced by those reaching them cross-culturally.

not symbolPLEASE DON’T SUBSCRIBE US TO YOUR LIST — It’s always better to ask before manually force-adding anyone to your list-serve or mailing list. Recently, tons of well-meaning people have been subscribing Doug to their lists. Since he often travels overseas, he doesn’t join many of those, for obvious reasons (like being charged big-time for overseas access). So as a general rule, please don’t bulk-mail us! See the note above if you’d like to submit items for Brigada Today. Thanks for understanding. Bottom line: We will never create Brigada Today items from bulk mail. Bulk mail gets deleted immediately — sorry. Nothing personal. We suggest you apply the same standard to everyone. Ask first!

OPCWARNING ABOUT FORWARDING EMAILS — Please, before forwarding any kind of request (even if it says “please send this to all your friends”), please check to make sure it has a VERIFIABLE ORIGIN, a VERIFIABLE PURPOSE, and a VERIFIABLE CLOSURE (OPC). By following this simple approach, many “email viruses” could be nipped in the bud… at least in the Brigada family. More information about the full Brigada OPC protocol is available. Thank you.
