3) Multilingual MK’s

I’ve got a great friend in North Africa who wrote, this past week, to say, “As missionaries my wife and I are not only trying to learn the three languages that surround us daily, we’re hoping our kids will, too. We recently found this website:

http://www.multilingualchildren.org/
and thought it might help others. At the same time we wonder what advice you could give us (things to do, and not to do).” If you have advice on how to grow multilingual kids, please click the comment link below. Thanks!

4) Momentum Magazine Moves To Strategic Network

Have you noticed that Justin Long has moved his content from Momentum Magazine over to Strategic Network? (Thanks Wilma!) See the site at:

http://www.strategicnetwork.org/

The model here seems to be that there is much free content, while other content is shared as “premium content,” available only after sponsoring Strategic Network for $20/year. If you have comments on this site, or this paradigm for supporting it, please click the comment link below.

7) Annual Internet Evangelism Focus Day In April

Internet Evangelism Day is set for the last Sunday of April. This international web awareness day, for churches, missions, colleges or any Christian group, aims to demonstrate the potential of the Web for effective evangelism.
Check the testimonies of people who found God online. Read the stories of a wide range of web evangelists – and note how many of them have no technical knowledge at all. Learn how you could create a short focus time in your church, mission group or college, using the free downloads from IE Day’s site – video clips, Powerpoint, drama scripts, music and handouts.

8) Leadership And Partnership Book

Working in partnership in a cross-cultural context can be quite a challenge. Often different leadership styles can cause misunderstanding and friction. Here’s a new book by Ralph Schubert that features a dialogue between Western and Tanzanian Christian leaders on their leadership styles and their impact on cross-cultural partnerships. Entitled, ” Leadership and Partnership. A dialogue between Western and Tanzanian Christian leaders,” it lets us see how leaders from both societies discover the similarities and differences, strengths and weaknesses of each leadership style in terms of character, relationships, power and conflict and what they can learn from each other. The author proposes practical action steps how to move towards a truer Christian leadership style and more genuine partnerships.

The book can be purchased through Amazon.

13) We Give Thanks…

Thanks to the anonymous folks in New Jersey who wrote, “Sustaining your Great Help, From a couple of anonymous ‘True Fans’ who have been helped and encouraged as parents of missionaries many times over many years.” We lift up their gift of $100 as praise to the ultimate parent of a missionary, the Lord Himself. Thanks, too, to the Global Airtime folks …

14) Your Gift To Brigada Makes A World Of Difference

Just click on one of the “Donor” links above. Both are safe, the one with PayPal and the other with one of the most well-known online merchant accounts you’ll ever meet. Neither requires you to open an account with anyone … and neither ever spams you. If you prefer, just send an old-fashioned check payable to Team Expansion to: Team Expansion (Brigada), 13711 Willow Reed Dr., Louisville, KY 40299. (Team Expansion is a 501(c)3 incorporation so for USA citizens, your checks made out to Team Expansion are tax-deductible.) As always, be sure to let us know if you’d like us to promote any particular service or ministry, or if you’d prefer your gift be anonymous. And thank you in advance for helping.

15) The Backpage: Join Us In "The Divine Conspiracy"

I recently picked up a copy of “The Divine Conspiracy,” asking myself… what if we did a series of regular devotionals in Brigada. If you’ve seen “Conspiracy” before, you know that the tag line is, “Rediscovering our Hidden Life in God.” Chapters are,

“Entering the eternal kind of life now,”
“Gospels of sin management”
“What Jesus knew: Our God-bathed world”
“Who is really well off? — The Beatitudes”
“The rightness of the Kingdom heart: Beyond the goodness of scribes and pharisees”
“Investing in the Heavens: Escaping the deceptions of reputation and wealth”
“The community of prayerful love”
“On being a disciple, or student, of Jesus”
“A curriculum for Christlikeness”
“The restoration of all things”

To join us, just pick up a copy of “Conspiracy” at any bookstore or on Amazon. Note that we are intentionally *not* providing a link here … especially a link that provides a kickback to Brigada… in an attempt to avoid *any* appearance of conflict of interest. The purpose in proposing this series of regular devotionals is totally to bring us together in Christ, to become more like him. (Therefore it seemed awkward to provide any link that resulted in a financial gift to Brigada. You’re always welcome to do that in other ways, mind you; just not linked to this study. :-) )

So how do you get started? First, order the book. We’ll start the study next Brigada. But act now. Time’s a wastin’! :-)

“The Divine Conspiracy” is by Dallas Willard, published by HarperOne. It was originally copyrighted 1997. See HarperCollines at:
http://www.harpercollins.com/
ISBN:978-0-06-069333-6
(By the way, if you go to Amazon, just copy and paste that ISBN number into the search box and you’ll instantly get the right result.)
Want to comment on this concept (doing a joint devotional together)? … or on Willard’s book? Just click “Comment” below.
