mistakesweremadeThe subtitle to this 2007 book by Carol Tavris and Elliot Aronson is “Why We Justify Foolish Beliefs, Bad Decisions, and Hurtful Acts.” I saw it in a bullet by Kelly and Michèle O’Donnell, who wrote, “This is an amazing book! It is practical, enjoyable, challenging, and full of research and insights. The authors do a great job to un-distort reality!” From the jacket cover: “Why do people dodge responsibility when things fall apart? [two renowned social psychologists] take a compelling  look at how the brain is wired for self-justification.” For more information on this book and to listen to some superb interviews with the authors, go to their site:
