I started backing up with Carbonite this Spring. It took a long time (most of two months) for the initial backup since I was overseas with limited connection time on a slow connection but it eventually got done. Now have 34.5 GB backed up on Carbonite. I also have a portable drive with a full back up. After two hdd crashes in 2006 I know the pain of replacing/recovering. I also keep a thumb drive set up to operate with portable apps.

Started using Carbonite 2 years ago and it has saved me twice already. Worth it.

I have installedCarbonite on my computer and it appears to be running. How can I siscover just how it is performing currently? Is there a way to monitor its functioning day to daye and week to week? W. E. Michael

Got hooked up to Carbonite a couple years ago… it’s hard to measure the peace of mind that comes from knowing your “stuff” is backed up. I did experience my Dell Latitude go belly up last year… it was a life-saver. Also, I’ve found a couple of files/docs that I had evidently deleted on my Carbonite backed up file on line….

You may want to check reviews on Amazon.com. Loads of negative reviews that are DETAILED in their reasons for low ratings does give one pause.
