3) Pray4Tunisia.com needs coaching on Social Media —

Our friends at

have been blessed to see hundreds join their daily (strategic and brief) and weekly (newsletter to empower those who are fasting) email lists, but they are asking for advice about how to get more people to participate by sharing their prayers on Twitter

http://www.twitter.com/Pray4Tunisia and Facebook http://www.facebook.com/Pray4Tunisia

Anyone have experience to share? Anyone want to “Follow” them, or  “Like/Comment” them to give a boost?

4) Mission Frontiers: Free Copies and Free Books —

In addition to free printing of PDFs available through the website, MF will ship FREE bulk quantities of the printed magazine to U.S. addresses until the extras printed are gone (multiples of 20, minimum 40).

This issue breaks new ground in several ways:

– MF’s theme (how to multiply reproducing disciples) is directly relevant for every church and every believer, not just mission “professionals.”

– MF has arranged to offer free strategic books from four publishers in exchange for an online review. (Sorry, shipping to U.S. addresses only.)

– The MF website has been upgraded to allow for comments, interaction with authors, proposed future themes, bonus material, etc.

7) Movies For Missionary Debriefing —

One of the team leaders in our organization says that he’s found a couple of great movies that seem to help teammates, new and old, just start talking about the ups and downs of missionary life.  As you know, this kind of debriefing can be soooo helpful in keeping missionaries healthy.  If you know of a film that is great for this, please share! For example, some time ago, I happened to be watching an old Star Trek: Next Generation episode called “Inner Light” just as we were about to kick off a debrief. Picked up the DVD and tried it. Even the non-Trekkies saw all the parallels between Piccard’s compressed-time short-term trip on the long-ago-lost planet of Katahn. He gets to bring home his flute, which makes a great parallel to all the stories that we can bring home about the people we come to know. What other media have worked out well for you?

12) The BackPage: David Platt’s High Impact Book, “Radical” —

David Platt is the Preaching Minister of the Brook Hills Church in Birmingham, Alabama. His sermon series, “Radical,” was released as a book last year, along with lots of accompanying resources at…

and the Brook Hills website, …

At the latter site, you can listen to all 8 sermons (for free!) as he originally scripted them at the church in Birmingham. The bulletin inserts and accompanying home Bible study outlines are available at no charge as well.

His messages deal with the forthright condition of the lost, as prescribed by Paul in Romans 1-3. They also speak frankly about his questions regarding how serious we are about reaching them. If you dare to listen, be ready to be challenged about your Lexus, your iPod, your pet Labrador, and the ball games you’ve queued up for Saturday. I’m telling you — the guy is a meddler. :-) However, his book and his themes are getting major traction in churches all across our land. The 5 “Radical Experiment challenges” at the end of the book are providing a backdrop for churches and families to radically shift their thinking about use of spare time, funds, and futures. Even if you’re accustomed to this heavy thinking, it would do all of us well to become familiar with the paradigms as he describes them because the next church you visit just might have finished a series on Radical the week before you come. You’ll want to be informed. Order the book at any website or purchase it at any bookstore. It’s everywhere.

Do you have thoughts about “Radical?” Have you preached this material lately? How did it impact *your* audience? Just click “Comment” below to fill us in. Thanks in advance.
