7) New Course Offers Six-session Study on the Great Commission

Find it at…

http://www.issacharinitiative.org/count-for-zero/
It’s a six-session study on the Great Commission. For hundreds of years, committed Christians have gone to the ends of the earth in response to our Lord’s command to take the Gospel to everyone… everywhere! Organizers of this course hope that you will be captured by the vision of a world that is increasingly being reached with the Message of the love and forgiveness of Jesus. They pray that you will become men and women of Issachar. More than 3,000 years ago, God raised up a cadre of 200 men and their families, from the tribe of Issachar, to give leadership to His people because they “Understood the times and knew what Israel should do.” Now you can become like they were.

8) What Can You Tell us About the Keystone Project?

keystone projectThis past week, a colleague shared quite a find:

http://www.keystoneproject.org/

There are tons of resources on the “Training Downloads” page. Has anyone tried these and, if so, can anyone share (in one of the Comment boxes following the web version of this item) how helpful this stuff is please? Because it LOOKS awesome… for instruction on discipleship and what it requires, the Holy Spirit, and disciplemaking movements. And it LOOKS like all this stuff is absolutely free. Could it be true?

11) Oral Bible Storying: Learn How Jesus Told HIS Story

storyrunnersOver 80% of the world are oral learners who want to communicate through hearing and telling stories. Join StoryRunners School of Storying, an interactive workshop September 28 – October 3, 2014
in Orlando, FL (USA), to learn how to use oral bible stories in any kind of ministry setting: for evangelism/discipleship/church planting, with individuals & groups, within your own people group & cross-culturally. Tell Jesus’ story the same way he told it!

14) The BackPage: Why Do Our Earbuds Always Tangle?

Perhaps you’ve battled it too — bad cases of tangling headsets. I sure have. And I always wondered, “Why in the world do these tangle so badly?” Well finally there’s a quantitative analysis:

http://www.businessinsider.com/the-reason-tangled-apple-iphone-earbuds-headphones-2014-6Headphone

Who knew? :-) (Thanks for pointing me to the study, Caleb.)

Now spiritualizing this is going to take an effort. But I know there’s a lesson here somewhere. Here’s what I’ve come up with so far. The basic principle behind these findings is that, the longer the headset, the more likely they are to tangle. So the corollary in the spiritual world is, the more you tackle for God, the more likely it is that you’ll make a mistake. This leads to the follow-up conclusion that we shouldn’t be so down on ourselves if some of the things we take on don’t end up working. Why? Because the more we tackle, the more likely it will be that some of our items “don’t make.”

Have you experienced this kind of principle recently? Or … are you about to? If so, please write a comment following the web release of this items. We’d love to see this principle documented. So — thank you, in advance, for taking time to write some of this down.
