9) Where Does Your Office Staff Go for Input?

acctThere’s a special get-together for Christian I.T. professionals. It’s called the International Conference for Computing and Missions or ICCM. Jason recently wrote with a decent question: Where do the bookkeepers/accountants go? … and the HR people and conference planners? Surely they have a space or location. If you know of their location, please click “Comment” after the web version of this item, immediately below. (Thanks for the great idea, Greg!)

11) Lead Your Church To Think And Act Like Missionaries

churchplantingIs your church looking for a way to engage globally but you don’t know how to get started? This new resource, “Jet Set In A Box”, from The Upstream Collective may be just what you are looking for.

The Upstream Collective trains and equips churches to think and act like missionaries, and one of the ways they do this is through Jet Set Trips. Jet Set trips are traveling mission think-tanks, where you will engage a city of your choice by using missionary skills outlined in “Tradecraft: For The Church On Mission,” experience culture and ministry venues where God is already working.

Upstream has packaged their model for churches so that you can build your own team, get training and consultation from their years of experience and begin implementing your global strategy now. Check out:

12) Get 50 users on Podio for Free, With No Start-up Hassles

podioDue to a gracious grant from Podio, here at Team Expansion, we’ve been using Podio for a few things relating to collaboration. Greg, our I.T. guy, wrote, “Uptime has been great, and they’ve implemented a number of our suggestions.” If you’d like to check it out, just follow the link below. Generally they start you out with five free users. However, using the link below, they offer 50 free users for non-profits without having to fill out any paperwork at all. Might be all you need to get started?

13) Is Voxofon.com for Real?

voxoA friend of mine wrote not that long ago to say he was experimenting with …

He wrote, “I’m using Voxofon.com now…works a lot like Jajah with direct local numbers you can program into your cell phone for international calls. One extra cool feature – when you assign the contact a direct phone number, there is an option for them to have a direct local number to call you. In other words, they can initiate the call from their cell or land line and your account would be charged the few cents a minute the call costs. The return calls don’t work from every country but it’s a great option for those international partners we have that never seem to have minutes available on their phone when we talk.” So — is this service for real and is there a downside? If you would be so kind and if you’re a user, click “Comment” after the web version of this item to give your objective feedback. Thanks! (And thanks to Dave for the tip.)

14) The BackPage: Would you Invite Someone Today to Read Brigada?

youre invitedIf you read Brigada, occasionally or regularly, would you pause for a moment today to ask who else might enjoy doing so? Brigada’s aim is to identify and promote resources, trends and motivation to fulfill the Great Commission. We’re trying to inspire others to help pass the baton of responsibility and initiative in world evangelism; to form a kind of “brigade” so that, shoulder to shoulder, we can finish the Task that Jesus assigned us in Matthew 28:19-20. Do you know someone who might resonate with that idea? Remember, Brigada is free — forever. During one season each year (November-December), we invite participants to make a gift to unreached peoples in the name of Jesus Christ by propelling Brigada forward with a gift to offset our web hosting fees, email services, lightweight marketing costs, and to offset the salary of our assistant. We’ve always said we’d never take any more than $17,000 per year max. (FYI — gifts have never reached that limit anyway.) After $17K, we’ll ask people to stop giving — just like Moses did. (We pray for that chance someday… to tell people there’s no need to give any more for the rest of the year.) But at the end of the day, we still give away all our services without regard to whether or not a participant is a donor. (However, donors do get prime space and they also go to the front of the line in the queue of items waiting to be published.)

So would you consider copying and pasting the following text in your next newsletter or update? If so, we’d be grateful, and your readers might like it too!

“Brigada is an e-zine and web journal offering resources, mission trends, motivation, strategy tips, tools & “hacks” to Great Commission Christians. It’s free (though donations are welcome, especially during the Christmas season) and just might be the longest-running regular missions publication on the web — weekly since January 1995. To learn more, simply visit brigada.org. You can subscribe to the email version by entering your email address in the upper right sign-up form.”

Thanks for your partnership in accelerating the fulfillment of the Great Commission!
