1) What Cross-Cultural Workers Ought to Know

This book is for people serving in limited access countries. It has been revised and expanded so that the e-book now has 69 chapters in its 430 pages. It is the basically the one written for missionaries, but with no mention of missionaries or missions; however, it does mention Christianity and quotes Scripture. If you know people serving in such places, you may want to send them the link or download the book and send it to them as an attachment. The book is available to download free of charge as .doc, .pdf, or .zip files for your computer and as .mobi or .epub files for your Kindle or Nook.

(Thanks to Ron, the author, for his steady support for Brigada, every time he submits an item. May God bless him.)

2) Nations Prayer Media

wheat-harvest_1280x800Three new ways to make a difference in the harvest fields are now available at

Nations Prayer gathers weekly prayer requests from harvest workers concerning their immediate needs and church planting goals. These are then sent out through media portals (website, emails or free app) so intercessors through the Body can lift up the needs. As intercessors pray in agreement with missionaries to our Father, they hope to see the fruition of Matthew 18:19. Now you can be a part of the story and subscribe today at

4) Train in Taiwan to make a cross-cultural evangelistic film!

filmmakingCreate International is currently accepting applications for the Frontier Filmmaking Seminar which will be held from October 4th to November 13th in Taiwan. Contact Steve for an application at

5) “Engage” Course Can Unlock Outreach to Muslims in Your Neighborhood

You see Muslims in your schools, grocery stores, workplaces, and neighborhoods. Muslims are more open to the Good News than we realize, but there are cultural and spiritual issues that can hinder your sharing of the gospel. The Engage Course is a dynamic and interactive learning experience that will empower your witness to Muslims. Some of the most experienced evangelists and experts working with Muslims in America and around the world today will coach you to engage in life-transforming conversations with the Muslims living, working, and studying in your community. Engage features 10 interactive videos and lesson plans you can easily host at your church, life group, or home. (Live speakers are also available if desired to enhance your training experience.) The course comes with the Engage Course Book, 6 DVDs with 10 training sessions, Coordinators Guide, Promotional Materials, Speakers List, and more resources online for only $125 + S&H.

10) Remember When Caleb Project Used to Release Kids’ Resources?

KLTPT TeacherPeople are still using them all over the country. Hats off, in fact, to ANY group who continues to address the question of how we teach our kids to pray. Watching a teacher this week try to teach a five-year-old to pray convinces us: This question deserves more attention.

Thankfully, here’s at least one curriculum you could consider…

This material includes a music CD, a teacher’s resource CD, a reproducible journal, and more. (This Pebbles and Stones group is taken from “all of us are living stones.” They focus on children across the world, raising up leaders within communities, in an attempt to raise up kids who know God’s story and how to reproduce it.) The “Kids Love to Pray Too” curriculum is based on Al VanderGriend’s book, “Love to Pray.”

12) Looking for a Way to Share Office Calendars?

office calendarWe’d love to hear back from someone willing to try this solution…

Looks like it costs about $10/month during the first year. But the payoff comes starting year 2. If I’m not mistaken, looks like you get premium support, a mobile syncing solution, a web app, AND upgrades for $2 per month thereafter! If that’s reality, then this is an awesome deal. Up to 50 copies can be purchased online. After that, they want you to work with an account rep. Honestly, this looks like a great solution, if it works. Shared calendars, shared task lists, shared contact lists. Somebody’s got to try this and report back to us. Please.

13) We Give Thanks…

give-thanks-in-everythingThis past month, we received $100 from Mission Network. By God’s grace, they believe in Brigada enough to make a monthly pledge of $100, partly because they want to dare other agencies, churches, and individuals to do the same. God bless you!!! Learn more about Mission Network at…

Thanks also to the folks at Go International for the $30 gift they sent to move their item forward in the queue. Thanks GO!

14) The BackPage: What if Muslims in YOUR Homeland Began Shari’ah Law?

The article at Zwemer’s website…

focuses more on the USA, but I’m guessing that some of the same questions and principles could be applicable to your homeland as well. With all of the recent questions about USA’s cultural and political drift, could Shari’ah law become a reality in the US? If it did, what would that mean?

I read the article. It’s filled with compelling questions. Truthfully, not all my questions were answered and, frankly, to me the article ends abruptly. Do you think Shari’ah law could ever become the rule in your homeland? Why or why not? (What did you think of the article in general? If you wouldn’t mind, please click “comment” after the web version of this item and let us know what you think. Thanks.) But one thing is for sure: We don’t HAVE to live in a so-called Christian nation to share our faith with Muslims. That’s evidenced by all the Muslims coming to Christ in the past twenty years. Just the same, please join me in praying that, in your homeland AND ours, God would reign, and that He would work through those in authority to guarantee enough freedom to speak openly, gather at will, and worship Jesus as Lord and creator. Please pray that prayer with me now, today. And thanks for your interest in this topic and in all of Brigada.
