I’m not sure how I missed it, but regardless, this past week, I discovered it. I ordered an screenbeamActionTec ScreenBeam Mini2 for $60 and, within 60 seconds, was projecting wirelessly from my Windows 8.1 laptop. It was easier than Google’s Chromecast PLUS it shows EVERYTHING on your laptop screen (instead of just YouTube and NetFlix). All you have to do is have Windows 8.1 (or buy the add-on kit that adapts Windows 7 and 8.0) and a monitor that accepts an HDMI signal. In (literally) seconds, you’ll be projecting wirelessly.
