1) Join us in Celebrating: The Release of Saeed Abedini!

Saeed AbediniLast year, hundreds joined us in prayer for Saeed Abedini, who had been assigned to the darkest and most notorious jail block in all of Iran. He had been traveling in Iran to visit leaders of house churches he had helped establish. But then, in what seemed like an instant (but was more like but was more like 14 months of laborious deliberations that sounded more like scenes from a “Bridge of Spies” movie), he was released and at this moment is flying to Europe. Regardless of any troubling backgrounds, this is a big win for religious freedom and we hope it signals the beginning of MANY such releases around the world by multiple governments and regimes. And no matter what, we can all gather together as one, celebrating answered prayer on behalf of thousands.

2) Facts, Fear and Faith in a Migrant Crisis

migrant crisisOur response as believers to the historic migrant crisis the world faces will be either a testimony to coming generations of God’s love being lived out through us or a rebuke on our generation for our lack of compassion. We each get to decide. But how can we help those who are struggling with fear? This GMI Digital Single addresses that issue. It is part of a larger book “Serving God in a Migrant Crisis” by Patrick Johnstone and Dean Merrill that will be released in Spring 2016. If you are helping those around you to develop a compassionate response to the Migrant Crisis, this short resource will be a help. See it at…

6) Who is Your Favorite Travel Agent? … your Favorite Site?

Every so often, we do a new list of fave travel agents and agencies. Lately, we’ve been hearing a lot about Laura Maron in Ft Lauderdale. It won’t hurt you to email her a copy of your next group or individual request-for-quote. Email her at…
LauradotMaronatMissionNationdotcom
or phone +1 954-947-2502 or fax +1 954-697-0203 . Learn more about her work at

http://www.MissionNation.com

Laura wrote, “I feel like I’m a part of their mission by arranging travel to remote destinations which many have never heard of. I’m a problem solver by nature, so I love the challenge and excitement of working on travel solutions for complex itineraries.”

7) Disk Space is Crazy these Days; It’s about to Get Crazier

Check out this development at Sandisk…

My sons and I marvel. We have an insider “private joke” about sending items like this to each other, with a comment like, “Who would have imagined?” Honestly, for these prices, we used to buy something with 32 megs. Just doesn’t seem possible these little gizmos could hold this much STUFF! (Thanks for the tip, Chris!)

8) Reach Thai while learning TESOL

Are you looking for an opportunity to reach Thai university students for Christ? Or do you need a place to do your TESOL internship for Bible school? Check out The Centre — which teaches English and other skills, all of great interest to university students in Chiang Mai, Thailand. They are praying for more teachers to fill all the classrooms, and corresponding students to go with them (1:00-7:00pm weekdays). They want to have an impact on several campuses in their region and country! For more information, email
thecentrecmatgmaildotcom or call 088-258-1015 or browse to…

9) What’s Your Favorite Mind-mapping Software? (to Track Groups)

If you’re doing three-thirds groups (or Discovery Bible Studies), you’ll want to track your streams (those who are being trained and training others). Seems like the front-runner, for those who can pay the piper, would be MindJet, or the bigger package, MindManager. Learn more at

https://www.mindjet.com/mindmanager/

If you’d rather go the free (web app) approach, try…

https://coggle.it/

It’s still very powerful, especially for the price. Use these mind manager apps for org charts, knowledge base bubble charts, project planning, and much more. Amazing that you just paste the spreadsheet data into the web portal there. No need to register or pay anything. Pro Pricing (kind of stiff; $99/month) gives you security and password protection, faster geocoding, 10 users, PDF support, 20K datapoints at a time and more — plus, no ads.

13) We’re Grateful for…

i give thanks for you… the Brigada participants in Owasso, Oklahoma, who passed along $30 to help us into the new year! Bless you!
… Two $100 “True Fans” from the great nation of Canada! One wrote, “Brigada has been a valued resource many times so I’m glad I could help.” The other said, “I have appreciated the encouraging resources of Brigada, and a number of our missionary staff do as well.”
… An amazing gift of $500 from New Hope Center, Waterloo, Indiana.

To join them, just mail your check, made payable to Team Expansion (Brigada), 13711 Willow Reed Drive, Louisville, KY 40299. Team Expansion is a 501(c)3 incorporation so, for USA citizens, your gift to Christ through Team Expansion is tax-deductible. If you’d rather give online, just click “Donate” in the upper right corner at brigada.org . Going forward, all gifts count toward our fundraising goal of $17,120 for 2016, which begins now. And once again, Thank you.
