1) “Bribery and the Bible” Free Download

Published in Singapore in 1991 by Campus Crusade Asia Limited, this book gives a Biblical perspective on bribery and extortion and applies that perspective to bribery issues in one country. After five chapters defining bribery and extortion and considering what both the Old Testament and the New Testament say about them, Richard Langston applies Scripture to the bribery problem in the Philippines where he served. His insights will be helpful wherever you serve. The book is now available to download free of charge as .doc, .pdf, or .zip files for your computer and as .mobi or .epub files for your Kindle or Nook. You can’t beat the price. Find it at…

2) Get the Lowdown on Making Disciples from David Watson

daretobeadisciple-postcardYou heard Harry Brown of CityTeam. You listened to Curtis Sergeant of MetaCamp. Now you’re ready for the third webinar in the series — on “How can I get my church involved in disciple making?” The THIRD webinar in this series of three webinars from will feature David Watson, author of Contagious Disciple Making and VP of Global Church Planting with CityTeam. In this third webinar, David Watson will tackle the tough topic, “My Friend Just Asked, ‘What About God?’ – Now What?” The webinar will look at how 24/7 prayer (including a one-of-a-kind prayer room in southern Indiana, USA) can undergird your efforts to start a disciple making movement. The session will also look closely at how a discovery Bible study (DBS) might lead your friend to Christ. Find out how to get from “Hi” to DBS — all in one webinar. Learn more and register at…

(Due to the generosity of several key donors who believe in this cause, the webinar is offered free of charge for your enjoyment and ministry.)

3) Free Downloadable Evangelistic Films:

Create International is focused on equipping Christians around the world with a variety of evangelistic tools. It even includes a searchable database of Audio Bibles in 1300 different languages. Get equipped to reach the nations!

4) In Search of Profiles on Unreached Nomads in Iran

Suppose we were looking for unreached people group profiles, helpful profile videos (varying lengths) on nomadic unreached people groups in Iran. Is there some central clearinghouse that lists a bunch of that kind of thing? If so, I can’t find it yet. The only way I’ve been able to gather them up so far is to go to

then set the country filter on “Iran” then go one UPG at a time. Any leads?

6) Edit Photos Like a Boss; Achieve Graphic Greatness

Looking for that perfect photo editor to add pop, glow, and sizzle? Wanting to add a graphic or words? … a scripture verse maybe? And then post on Facebook or Instagram? Has Adobe outpriced their creative suite so it’s not so sweet for you any more? The greatest editor of all might be closer than you think (for less money than you think). Try…

You’re not going to believe what an “app” can do to your photo.

7) Visual Media Strategy Forum April 8-9, 2016

The “Visual Media Strategy Forum” is a gathering of media influencers, content creators and media distributors with a heart to communicate the gospel message to the remaining least reached peoples. Through developing relationships of trust, they desire that partnerships will initiate projects that will result in new media being created for those people groups who have no indigenous gospel presentation. Join them in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Learn more at…

8) Get Ready to Teach English as a Second Language — in Thailand

tesol-classAsia’s Center for TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) conducts intensive, five-week courses leading to a TESOL certificate. They have a course coming up August 29-September 30, 2016. For the first three weeks the classes are Monday-Friday, 8-4. For the last two weeks, the classes are 8-12, followed by a two-hour practicum in the afternoon or evening. This totals 120 hours in class and 20 hours of practicum (10 hours observing and 10 hours teaching). Fly to Thailand for the course, pay the missionary rate, or pay $2000 to take it in the United States/Canada and not have an international experience. 9) Attend The School of Frontier Media

If you are passionate about extending God’s Kingdom to the unreached, then this is the course for you! The SFM is a second-level YWAM school, devoted to training individuals in using media to communicate the Gospel in ways that are both innovative and culturally relevant. This year it’s being run from the 4th of July through to the 16th of December. Go to

to find out more.

13) We’re grateful for…

Thank-you-2…$30 from Go International and $25 from W.I.N. Ministries, both designed to speed their news through the global ministry of Brigada so that unreached people groups could embrace Christ and His Good News, the only hope for glory.
…$100 from a prayer warrior, making a gift to Jesus through Brigada to bring more focus and attention toward the peoples of Iran — especially, that God might raise up a disciple making movement among the NOMADS of Iran. His Spirit is already moving mightily… but may He not quit until His work is finished. May He inspire, encourage, and facilitate the work and workers until an unstoppable movement, an unquenchable fire is raised up!
…$50 from one of the workers at Create International, the providers of…

Bless his heart for caring enough to empower Brigada to thousands of screens around the globe!

14) The BackPage: These Times they are a changin’

I’m not a huge Bob Dylan fan. But my son is. So somehow, I had heard of the song by that title (These Times the are a changin’). Apparently it was a made-for-TV movie too? Same title? (The YouTube of that title sequence has 5 million views.)It was produced in 1964. The first verse goes like this…

Come gather ’round people
Wherever you roam
And admit that the waters
Around you have grown
And accept it that soon
You’ll be drenched to the bone
If your time to you
Is worth savin’
Then you better start swimmin’
Or you’ll sink like a stone
For the times they are a-changin’.

Does every generation think it’s in the middle of paradigm shifts to end all paradigms? Apparently. But we seem to get more than our share. In his new book, “Our Anchor in a World Adrift,” Jon Hirst (CEO of Global Mapping), chronicles 7 stats you need to know to serve the King (and lead out in missions). They revolve around these key themes:

*** An unprecedented refugee crisis that has millions on the move
*** Economic instability, unemployment, and individual identity
*** Personal disconnection in our digitally connected world
*** Evolving sexual morality and definitions of family
*** Why the world’s fastest growing population centers are becoming less Christian
*** Secularism and suicide, both of which are rising worldwide.
*** The quest for a spiritual home

Most of these themes have become central (or nearly so) in the agency that I lead, a mission agency with 300 workers in just over 40 countries. I bet the same things are popping up on your windshield as well. So I’m grateful when demographics guys like Jon Hirst make it easier for me to lead, speak, and preach to today’s audiences. That’s why I’m hoping this book (and its message) makes its way out to churches, agencies, and families all over the globe today. Learn more about the book here..

Now — disclaimer — I haven’t seen the book. But it sounds great. Once we DO see it, let’s sit down together and swap our take on how he handles the details. But from where I’m walking today, this book… these THEMES… are indeed central to everything we do. Go Jon. : )
