2) New Book: Evangelism in the 21st Century

evangelismThis book is the result of four years of research on the question, “In an era influenced by postmodernism how can Christians continue to be involved with evangelism in the 21st century?” Find it at Amazon for $6.14 (ebook/kindle) or $17.99 (paperback) or directly from the author for 50% off via

3) New Book on “Embracing Followership”

ef_coverAre you investing in the quality of your followership (the complementary idea to leadership)? Allen has served overseas for 9+ years, lived on 3 continents, and has provided team building training to multi-ethnic ministry teams around the world. He just released a book, Embracing Followership, as a guidebook to help team members serve with effectiveness. Now available internationally in print and Kindle formats, find more info at:

4) Got Any Resources on Doing DMM/DBS in French or Other Languages?

Churches and individuals all over the world are catching on to the importance of obedience to Christ’s command to “make disciples” (Matt. 28:19-20). One can see it in the surge of interest in starting disciple making movements (DMM’s), launching three-thirds groups (otherwise known as Discovery Bible Studies or DBSes), and websites like

But Judy asked this past week — are there materials available on these subjects in French and/or other languages? If so, please click “comment” following the web version of this item and point us to a resource. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

5) Webinar Series: How Can I get My Church Involved in Disciple Making?

watsonDon’t miss David Watson, author of Contagious Disciple making, in his interview with us live via webinar on the question of “How Can I get My Church Involved in Disciple Making?” this Wednesday, March 16th, at 12 noon Eastern Daylight Time (USA). The webinar grid will only accommodate 1000 seats so register now to insure your spot.

At the URL above, you can catch the two previously-archived webinars in this series on launching disciple making movements in your church, also without charge, featuring Harry Brown and Curtis Sergeant.

6) Catch a Local Church Case Study in Developing a 24/7 Prayer Room

IMG_7508Interested in 24/7 prayer? The Moravians called it “hourly intercession.” When leaders at the Brownstown Christian Church (Brownstown, Indiana) heard about this concept, they began to dream. On Wednesday, March 16th, you can interact with one of these leaders, Paul Rogers, and see pictures of the 24/7 prayer room they’ve launched to spur on the vision. Packaged with the question, “How Can I get My Church Involved in Disciple Making,” Brownstown sees 24/7 prayer as a parallel track to creating momentum for making disciples in their community. But their dream for a 24/7 prayer room is big. Very big. You’ll see pictures of all the various “stations” they’ve created, as well as hear from Paul about how they plan to implement the vision. And then, hear DMM Trainer, David Watson, of CityTeam, link the vision of 24/7 prayer to launching disciple making movements. It will be a great one-two punch. Register today at…

7) Best-Selling Book for Short-term team Members: “Prep Your Heart”

WorldChristian.com has compiled its best-selling books for the past 12 months and the #1 seller might surprise you. Author Cindy Judge wrote, “Before You Pack Your Bag, Prepare Your Heart” after helping prepare thousands of short-term workers at Willow Creek and, her experience shows. This 47-page paperback is a thoughtful, relevant 12-lesson Bible study that challenges short-termers to prepare their hearts before packing their bags: as servants, with cultural sensitivity, and as team players. Its spiral binding allows for easy note-taking and journaling wherever you are (at home and overseas). You’ll want to order one copy each for every member on your mission team, so that you all process the same studies together as a team. Learn more or purchase at…

10) New John Eldredge Book on Prayer “Actually Works” !!! : )

That’s what the title says about prayer. “It actually works.” (Was there ever a doubt?) But this book does take a different approach with answers to prayer. “If you are interested in prayer at all, you want prayer that works. That is the kind of prayer at the center of this book. When we discover that prayer is not just asking God to do something – prayer is partnership with God – new possibilities open before us.” Sounds good. Learn more at…

12) Tracking Refugees from All Corners

Heidi wrote this past week wanting to draw attention to the fact that many of the refugees hitting the shores of Europe are from North Africa, Pakistan and Afghanistan — NOT Syria. She had seen this in Debka File, an Israeli news group…

If we or anyone else had ever implied that all or even most were from Syria, we apologize. This is a GLOBAL wave of migrants, spurred in part by multiple economic and political realities. And frankly, some are just trying to find a better life.

13) We’re Grateful…

thank you blocksThanks to the Mission Network, who sent $100 this past week because they believe in Brigada enough to make a monthly pledge of $100, partly because they want to dare other agencies, churches, and individuals to do the same. God bless you!!! Learn more about Mission Network at…

We’re also thankful for the friend in Greensboro, NC, who sent $30 this past week. Thank you and God bless!
