1) Great Responses on “Which VPN Should we Use?”

A couple of weeks ago, we re-ran the question, “Which VPN?” thinking it had been tool long since we asked. There are so many great responses, the best way to catch them all is just to go to the post and look through the comments..

http://www.brigada.org/2017/04/09_20141

Recall that a VPN keeps your browsing (and other internet activities) anonymous. You’ll need a VPN operating in and out of sensitive lands AND the Wi-Fi hotspot down the street, if someone might be there harvesting computer data that allows them to steal your identity. Ouch.

3) Where are the African American Missionaries? Here they are..

The NAAMC has a simple goal: to encourage African Americans to join the harvest. Today, millions of people live and die without hearing God’s good news. God is asking for people to go, will you respond with “send me?” In 2014, The National African American Missions Conference emerged from the partnership of the Great Commission Global Ministries and SIM USA. Their conference is slated for June 22-24 at the McLean Bible Church Conferencing Center. Learn more at…

4) Rethinking Forum 2017 – Presented by Margnetwork.org

Margnetwork.org is hosting the Rethinking Forum 2017 in Houston, Texas from June 23-25. The Rethinking Forum is a gathering place for those who are walking alongside Hindus and/or Sikhs as they explore a relationship with Jesus. Hear presentations on Bible studies with Hindus, student ministry, and Hindu devotional lives. Learn and network with others. Check it out at…

5) Missions Training And Church Planting Among Refugees In The USA

Global Frontier Missions has been preparing workers for over 15 years through its Missionary Training Schools in Atlanta, Houston and Richmond. They are currently accepting applications for their programs beginning in Fall 2017. You’ll work along side full time missionaries working to start church planting movements among refugees and immigrants from Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Syria, Saudi Arabia and many more unreached areas. Learn more at…

6) Looking to Start Grantwriting for your Org or Church?

Then look no further. At this website, find out how you can purchase a $600 product for just $99 in less than two minutes.

http://info.techsoup.org/grantstation/?utm_source=marketo&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=grantstation-2017-04-28
You’ll have to be available to purchase the Grantwriters credentials on May 16 or 17 though. That’s when the price drops by some $600 to the lowest price ever — just $99 for an entire year’s worth!

7) Pick up a Fully Accredited MA Degree in Abrahamic Studies…

The Abraham Center at GIAL (Graduate Institute of Applied Linguistics) in Dallas, TX offers the only fully accredited MA degree in Abrahamic Studies in the USA. Students become equipped to serve within the Abrahamic (Jewish, Christian, and Muslim) communities with respect and understanding. This degree prepares one for scholarly, professional or intercultural service. Some courses are offered online. Check out the Abraham Center video…

9) What if Your Church Needs Deconstructed? What would that Look Like?

Carpenter’s Home Church was a prominent Assemblies of God megachurch in Lakeland, Florida. Opened in 1985, the church claimed 5,000 worshipers at its peak. The church closed amidst financial scandal and dwindling attendance. Check out one person’s testimony…

Bummer that we sometimes give the church a bad rap, but in reality, everything she says in her video is so true… It’s where we go for healing, for comfort, for friends, for service, for inspiration, for worship, etc. Of course, the flip side is we live in a fallen world and Satan wants to destroy. He sure has his way sometimes. Super sad story.

10) In Search of Collaborative Word Processing and Team Building

This past week, we needed a solution for collaboration in creating documents. We were so weary of the standard email threads copying 4 or 5 people every time. We first tried Quip, but alas, I don’t think SalesForce is going to give us a good enough price. And we can’t justify paying $10 per person (after the first 5, that is). So we kept looking — and found Etherpad. Yes, it’s a hassle to stage it. But there are several “free” solutions out there. And maybe you’ll have an I.T. guy who can stage it. Either way, Etherpad is a great product — and completely free! Worth a try. Learn more at…

11) Great input on the Fundraising Question

We asked recently which services seem best for helping folks to learn support-raising as quickly as possible. One recommended Causevox, a peer2peer fundraising platform. “They don’t charge fees for the first $5000 raised for an org and have a great blog.” Thanks Laurie, for that input. Laurie went on to add the Bloomerang blog, in part because it will introduce you to many thought leaders. She added *another* option — Tom Ahern who teaches about writing donor centered material. Her last suggestion was Simon Sinek’s Ted talk- on the subject of “Start with Why” although that’s not the title. Finally, she also threw in “People Raising,” an essential book on raising personal support. Again, thanks so much Laurie. So — the place to start is…

12) Don’t Forget this Disciple Making Practices Video
