2) Join a Movement of Believers Praying (and Intervening) for Somalia

Are you tired of hearing about Somalia being a haven for violent criminals and recruitment of new terrorists? Want to stop piracy on the high seas once and for all, replacing it with hearts full of love for a Savior? Do you wish you knew how to pray for hope for Somalis throughout the region of the Horn of Africa, but you just haven’t quite known what to pray? Now you can know for certain. Join a movement of others who have decided enough pain is enough. Stand shoulder to shoulder with a new generation of workers committed to bringing a new peace to a generation of children who have missed their entire childhood and who have missed an entire lifetime of normal education. This is a two-day event, May 17-18, and the cost, including two delicious lunches and the entire program (including a special secure guest speaker from the Horn of Africa, is just $49 per person. (These people obviously aren’t in it for the money.)

3) Spirit Walk: New Book by Steve Smith Jump Starts Your Prayer Life

Whether you need a kick-start for your disciple-making movement, or for you personal life in Christ, Steve Smith’s new book, Spirit Walk, will help you launch and sustain the journey. The Spirit Walk path has helped thousands of ordinary people shift from a fundamental reliance upon methods and self-helps to the essential reliance upon the Spirit Who empowers these. Spirit Walk reminds us of the ancient Biblical path and explains it in a practical discipline that you can remember daily. This book will begin retailing for $15.95 each at Amazon in May, but you can preorder in quantities for as little as $7 each. Learn more at

Better act fast though. Pre-orders close April 20th.

4) “Third Culture Kids” Book Goes to 3rd Edition

Ruth Van Reken and Michale Pollock have done it again. They’ve updated what is widely recognized as the TCK “bible.” Emphasis is on the modern TCK and addressing the impact of technology, cultural complexity, diversity & inclusion and transitions. Includes new advice for parents and others for how to support TCKs as they navigate work, relationships, social settings and their own personal development. You can order today at…

(Thanks, Kelly and Michèle O’Donnell for bubbling this up to us!)

5) Got a Friend Wondering if Jesus Was/Is for Real? (Free Link)

If you’ve got a new not-yet-believing friend, you can always send him or her to this link…

where you’ll find the entire text of Josh McDowell’s “More than a Carpenter.” You can also buy the entire book now in both English and Arabic here…

in a bi-lingual, English-Arabic version, perfect for sharing with your Muslim friend. Of course, you’ll need $345 to buy it. If you’d rather not pay $345, just send them over to …

and buy it there for $4.99. (Go figure. : ) )

7) Your Invitation to a Global Integrity Movement (Lausanne)

The Lausanne Movement recently carried an article by Kelly And Michèle O’Donnell issuing a kind of “Summons for Global Integrity.” See it at…

They’re calling us to fight self-deception and corruption. They summarize it like this: “Global integrity requires ongoing, honest reflection at all levels. Like the character and virtue in which it is embedded, it is refined in the caldron of life’s tough challenges and choices. We are the light-or the darkness-of the world. We can be keys to influencing moral wholeness for a whole world.” It’s a great call.

9) How Will the EU’s GDPR Affect Ministries? (Data Privacy)

We love privacy. But we’re sobered by potential costs of the EU’s new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Check out the home page at…

England and the UK are apparently following this too. Would you please click “Comment” following the web or app version of this item and tell (anonymously, if you prefer) how these new laws might impact your org, agency, or church? (Thanks for kicking this up, JED, and thanks for brainstorming with us on this, Greg.)

10) Free E-book from ChinaSource: 7 Trends Impacting Foreigners

Today the maturing of the church, along with heightened official suspicion toward foreign involvement in China, are giving rise to new modes of engagement. This e-book, by Brent Fulton, explores seven trends to watch in the coming years. Subscribe to ChinaSource content to get a free copy, or purchase the e-book for $1.99.

11) Best Vendors for On-Demand Printing Services?

Following our recent inquiry about the best way to publish books, a Wycliffe friend named Carl referred us to On-Demand Books…

Carl added, ” The most helpful feature of “print on demand” is that you can have as few or as many books printed at a time as you wish. There is no need to keep an inventory of undistributed books. The text and its cover are kept by the publisher as computer files that are output to the printer as needed.” Another friend referred us to Snowfall Press…

Do you have other on-demand printing services that offer attractive pricing or services? If so, would you please click “Comment” following the web or app version of this item? Thanks in advance for your help.

12) We Love the Brigada App. Do you?

Did you know there is now a Brigada app for both iOS and Android? Hundreds are already using the app version on their smart phones, ipads, tablets, or other digital devices. They like the convenience of having the content downloaded (for off line reading), they love the layout and attractive appearance, and they appreciate the full-text search ability off-line as well. If you haven’t tried the app, check it out today wherever you find apps for your device. Just use the search term, “Brigada”.

13) We’re Grateful for…

…$50 from a friend who loves resources for evangelism. God bless you!

If so, just click “Donate” at www.brigada.org, or mail a check payable to Team Expansion (Brigada), 13711 Willow Reed Drive, Louisville, KY 40299. 14) The Last Bit: What Are the Best Video Testimonies You’ve Seen?

We were recently reflecting on the story of Nabeel Qureshi. His testimony has impacted hundreds of thousands (millions?) and given reason to believe for many. See an example of it here…

Are there other recorded testimonies like this that have impacted you or those about whom you care? Let’s make a list. What a powerful way to prompt not-yet-believers to consider Christ and his story. If you have a story like this, would you be able to record it in video or audio form and share it with us and the world (if it’s safe to do so)? Just click “Comment” following the web or app version of this item. Thanks in advance for telling your story!
