4) No Doubt Our New Fave Video on 3 Circles (Thank you Lord)

When I (Doug) grow up, I’d love to learn to make videos like this. (Please Lord — please let me grow up into this someday.) In 3 minutes, how could any video be more powerful at showing a presentation of God’s divine message. And besides all that, what a great take on 3 circles! If you don’t watch or do anything else today, please take 3 minutes to watch this video:

and visit the accompanying learning site to LEARN the 3 Circles approach for sharing the Good News about Jesus.

5) New Infographic Shows Global, Regional, and Issue-Focused Networks

Networks are becoming one of the fastest growing platforms for leaders and practitioners to connect in the global missions community. These networks are leading to the discovery of best practices, new means of sharing information, and cooperative action for the sake of gospel proclamation to the ends of the earth. Hundreds of networks that have formed in the last decade range from wide global movements to very unique issue-focused communities. Through their partnership with LinkingGlobalVoices.com, Missio Nexus has just staged a new Infographic that illustrates and groups hundreds of these networks on one artboard. Check it out at…

8) We Just Prayed for Myanmar/Burma at PrayerCast; Will You Join Us?

These PrayerCast people are the real deal. And they never solicit for money. We hope God is taking care of them. Because their work is awesome.

This month, we’ve been asked by a Bible translation agency to work alongside of them for the Mon people. As they translate, they’re asking us to help them raise up a church-planting movement or DMM. If you or someone you know might consider working among the Mon, would you please drop Team Expansion a note at:

9) “What Are the Best News Sources” Item Raises Issues

First, to clarify, we weren’t necessarily recommending all the news sites in the list at…

Please re-read what we said: “Here are some of the many well-known sites.” Having listed those, we wanted to know “YOUR favorites?” The item generated quite a bit of response. One Brigada participant said, “We thought you had gone liberal on us.” We trust that by now (23 years on, weekly editions) that you know who Brigada is. But seriously… finding unbiased news… Has it not become a major quest? If you have a moment, please go back to the original post (the link above) and click “comment” to list any other news site that YOU frequent (if you like it). Thank you!

10) How to Keep Prayer Vibrant in Your Org or Church

Hats off to the folks who commented at..

on ” What’s Your Secret for Keeping Global Prayer Vibrant?” We especially liked this idea:
“What has worked for our small missions organization is a 1/2 hour Saturday morning freeconferencecall.com call-in prayer meeting. To make it work, I have to prepare a 1-page list of current praises and prayer requests and send it out every Friday to a list of pray-ers who have indicated interest in receiving it. Then on Saturday morning we don’t waste time talking; we just pray through the list. We’ve had remarkable and very specific answers to prayer, which keep the prayer warriors motivated. This requires that someone every week make the international phone calls necessary to stay current on prayer needs of our international partners and take the time (2-3 hours) to type up such a list. But for us, it’s been more than worth it!”

If you’ve got an idea to throw into the ring, please go back to the original link (above) and click “Comment” to add your idea to the mix. Thanks!!!

12) Need to Convert an Audio or Video Recording to Text? It’s Easy

I (Doug) remember in the old days, I would have to hire someone to type out an audio interview. It was time-intensive and expensive. And, for the person typing, pretty boring. No more. Now, the helper can just clean up the text produced by

Yes, there’s a monthly fee. But we only have to pay the fee during the month we have work of this type. And the flat monthly fee is PENNIES compared to what we would have to pay for a typist to listen and transcribe all the audio. Plus, it’s a cool name! Well done, Sonix! (Note: We aren’t receiving any affiliate pay for recommending this site.)

13) We’re Grateful for…

… a $25 gift from Equipping Servants International. God bless you!!!
… another $25 gift from StarTrust Communications. We’re grateful!

14) The Last Bit: Sounds Like an Ad, but We Just Saved $1400 on Airfare

Woman with coins in jar

If I (Doug) hadn’t seen it with my own eyes, I never would have believed it. At the last minute, a new field opportunity popped up in a major city in Europe. I jumped on all our usual websites for airfare… Sites like Orbitz, Kayak, and Travelocity, along with proprietary airline sites like Delta and United. True story: The best price I could find for ANY round trip during the time bracket we needed (which was just there and back in 5 days; that’s what jacked up the pricing) was $2800. Honestly, I gave up. The next day, Tina tried, using a new travel site she had heard about…

When she told me she had latched down a fare for less than $1100 on an Air France ticket stock flight (flying on a Delta plane), I didn’t believe it. Then I saw the invoice. She was telling the truth. In one single airfare purchase, she had saved $1700 using this new comparison-shopping site. We ended up using it again about 3 days later. A fare for East Africa showed up as unavailable on the “classic” sites. Momondo found a seat — at a competitive price. Were these just two just freak occurrences? Could be. But it’s definitely worth a try. Please keep in mind: We aren’t being paid nor are we receiving any discounts by endorsing this site. And we aren’t travel agents, by any means. It’s just that it worked for us. One beggar telling another where to find bread.
