2) Do you want to use your professional skills in a way that advances the Kingdom of God?

Does your church wrestle with how to best equip its members to impact their workplace with the Gospel? Is your university or mission agency seeking to train and launch marketplace professionals around the block or around the world? If so, then Marketplace Restoration is for you! This is a newly forming online community connecting people, partners and resources to restore God’s glory through the global marketplace. It’s open to all, but specifically designed to be a focal point for the Christian Churches / Churches of Christ. If you’d like to learn more or find out how to get involved yourself, the site’s designers will be hosting two interest meetings on Saturday, November 17th, at ICOM 2018 in Cincinnati, OH. If interested, sign up at

6) Free Audio Resources about Patronage

The Patronage Symposium (Oct 2-5 in Lebanon) gathered theologians and practitioners to discuss a practical missiology of patronage. The event featured 20 presentations from David deSilva, John Barclay, Gerry Breshears, Randy Richards, Jackson Wu, Werner Mischke, Jayson Georges, and many others. All presentations were recorded and are now freely available at:

These are great resources for better understanding and engaging how many cultures do relationships!

7) New Book Tells the Story of A. B. Simpson and the C&MA

The title is, “So Being Sent.. They Went: A History of the C&MA Mission in Cabinda, from 1885 to 1957.” It’s a history of the work in Congo and Cabinda, the mission field that A. B. Simpson chose as the first missionary endeavor of the Gospel Tabernacle of New York City. The first team of five men sent out by Simpson in later 1884 predates the founding of The Christian and Missionary Alliance in 1957. It reveals the early learning pains that Simpson and the Alliance faced in the Congo. See the Kindle version at…

8) TESOL Training in Chiang Mai

Are you teaching English as a platform for ministry? Get some training and do and excellent job. The Asean Center for TESOL offers an intensive, five-week certificate course in Chiang Mai, Thailand. And it’s cheaper to fly out and take this course than it is to take the same course in N.A.! See contact info below for application forms or more information:

9) “Great Commission Kids”

Give your kids a heart for global missions. Inspire them with stories of how we can share God’s love with unreached people groups. The true stories of “GC Kids” cover the world and all missionary “jobs.” Fun pencil activities reinforce the theme. GC Kids is postal mailed free four times a year world-wide. Subscribe for your child to
GCKidsatworldteamdotorg. All issues may be downloaded free at

10) Who Do We Know with Legal Connections?

This past week, a great friend wrote, asking, “Do you have any connections with a like-minded expert on intellectual property? The training site we’re running is worth a small fortune, and while we’re eager to give it to the like-minded, if someone were to monetize it, we’d prefer to leverage associated benefits toward Kingdom objectives rather than just give them away.” How would you answer our buddy? If you know of a law practice that might help him, please click “Comment” on the form that follows this item.

12) Wondering How to Pray for Third-Culture Kids (MK’s)? Try This:

Lauren Wells has done all of us a good favor by compiling the resources at “GRIT: A Guide to Praying for Third Culture Kids.” Through stories and illustrations, she explains and instructs us regarding the struggles and victories of being an “MK.” She concludes, “Nothing has taught me more about the power of prayer than seeing the effects of intercession in my life and in the lives of so many other TCKs.” Read it and drink it in…

(Thanks for bubbling this up to us, Betty!)

13) We’re Grateful for…

…a $100 gift from Mission Network, with a note that said, “Praising God for your Ministry.”
…a $20 gift from a long-time reader of Brigada. God bless you!!!

14) Let’s Pray for Yemen Like Never Before

In the last few days, we are seeing mounting pressure from the US government toward the warring sides in Yemen. It feels like there are some officials in the US State Department that have finally heard the cries of a myriad of suffering families there. Now is the time to double down and pray like never before. Please read articles like this one…

and watch videos like this one…

Please help us spread the word and ask churches, groups, families, and individuals everywhere to pray for a difference in Yemen… that the fighting would stop, that the one-million suffering without food would find solace, and that good news would finally come to this troubled land.

Here’s an example of the USA State Department calling for peace:
