1) Reentry After Short-Term Missionary Service: Free Download

Many books are available for people returning to their passport country after serving in other cultures for several years.  Although many more people return after short-term service after short term service of a few weeks or months, few books are available for them even though the issues are often very different.  Written for people returning to their passport country after a few weeks or months of missionary service, this book helps them not only reenter but also consider how they have changed and what that implies for their future. Using Jonah and Paul as examples, it also helps them process the good and bad events that occurred. This book is available to download free of charge as .doc, .pdf, or .zip files for your computer and as .mobi or .epub files for your Kindle or Nook. You can’t beat the price. Find it at…

(We’re so grateful to those who prepare materials like this for cross-cultural servants! Hats off to Ron and all those who help him make this happen.)

2) Internet Resources for Studying (and Teaching) the Bible

Where do you go if you cannot afford to buy quality resources for in-depth Bible study? Well, to the Internet, of course – but where exactly? The “Digital Toolbox” (an eBook in PDF) is a collection of 800 links to free resources available on the web to help you study and teach the Bible. Download it for free from this Google Drive folder:

3) These "GOer Groups" Videos Might Play Well in Peoria…

…and at your church, if you choose. They address some key questions:

Where to go, Choosing an agency, Finances and debt, “Church, parents, and relationships,” What to do now, On-Field realities, and Continuing on. The price is amazing. (They’re free to view online.) And because they come from the Center for Mission Mobilization, you can be assured that they have an equal footing for your agency as well as all others. Thanks, Center for Mission Mobilization!!!

4) Hats Off to This Author for Giving Away This Book for Free!

God has made you great and precious promises so you would be a partaker of his divine nature, do you know them? This book contains a list of God’s promises from every book in the Bible to help you renew your mind and see God’s promises manifest in your life.

We’re big fans of Clint Byars approach…

Sell a printed copy — but give away the PDF for free. (See:

He’ll jump WAY higher in the social media circles and his message will go far and wide. And we bet some people will buy his book and still help him pay the bills. Thanks Clint!

5) Several Took Time to Interact About my (Doug’s) Pneumonia

We’re indebted to those who have prayed and given input after Doug’s item regarding contracting pneumonia. The prayers and input are greatly appreciated. Don’t hesitate to add more to the thread if you’ve experienced something similar, including if you’ve been able to push through 81 years, like Neal mentioned in his comments. (Thanks Neal! Hats off to you brother!)

We especially liked Jenny’s write-up about her organization’s Roomba vacuum cleaner, affectionately named “Rosie.”

8) Suppose You Wanted a List of Missions Conference Speakers…

Where would you go? That’s what one Brigada participant is facing. Diane wishes there was a kind of clearinghouse for interesting mobilizers and itinerant speakers. One might argue that Perspectives could provide such a thing — but remember that many excellent speakers aren’t necessarily the type to teach a two-hour academic class (even if it DOES help mobilize people to missions). So — IS there such a thing? If not, how might we make one of those? Comments? Thoughts? Please let us know you’re ideas. Thanks! (Just click comment after the web version of this item.)

9) The Evangelical Missions Quarterly is Free for Missio Nexus Members

Did you know that if your church or org was a member of Missio Nexus, you get to download and/or view the Evangelical Missions Quarterly for free? Ask your org if it’s a member. If not, you could always join as an individual. Check out the new edition of EMQ at…

This brand new edition is all about geography and place. Do they still matter?

10) Zúme Project Adds Swahili

Next time you have a sec, if you speak Swahili or know someone who does, stop by…

and check out the brand new Swahili version of the Zúme Project. Zúme is an on-line and in-life learning experience designed for small groups who follow Jesus to learn how to obey His Great Commission and make disciples who multiply. It takes 10 weeks to complete and is completely free of charge because donors have gone before and made possible productions like this new Swahili version. Yay! Thank you to all those who have made this possible!

14) The Last Bit: Do You Know a Premium Conference Center in Singapore?

…or really, anywhere near there? It’s that time again. Our org is looking for a great conference center for a global gathering. The question is — how do we discover it? There’s no one clearinghouse for these things. We usually need a main meeting room that would (perferably) seat 250. But we also need at least 6 breakout rooms as well. Plus a dining area for 250… and lots of sleeping rooms, too. (Maybe 75?) We love a “destination” place (beautiful ocean view? …mountains?) but it doesn’t have to be luxurious. It just needs to be clean and free from bugs. Do you know of a place like that in Singapore or anywhere nearby? Do you know of a directory that helps orgs like ours discover sites like these? If so, please click comment. We’d be very grateful!!!
