1) Meet the Leaders of the Mission Leaders Conference in Orlando

Missio Nexus has made it easy to get to know the main session presenters and all the workshop leaders too. Just click the “biography” or “plus sign” beside each and you’ll learn more about each personality and backdrop.

Of course, let’s be honest: One of the *major* reasons of going to Missio Nexus’s “Future Mission” Mission Leaders Conference is also to network with all the agency leaders and workers in the hallways, too. Those are the unsung heroes who don’t appear on this webpage but still help make the event special. Sept. 19-21, Orlando. Hope you’ll pencil it in today.

4) Upcoming SRS Bootcamps 2019

Are you struggling to raise support? Support-Raising Solutions is here to help! Register today for an upcoming SRS Bootcamp: designed to encourage you spiritually, give you tools to become vision-driven and train you to be a fully funded Great Commission. Learn more at…

Conferences are coming up on these dates in…

August 28 – Charlotte, NC

September 12 – Pittsburgh, PA

October 29 – Fayetteville, AR

November – Location TBA

December – Jacksonville, FL

5) The Latest on Operation World

This past week, we received an inquiry from a Brigada reader wishing and praying that a new version of Operation World might be in the makings soon. He wrote, “The latest version is 2001, right?” The great news is, Jason Mandryk and all his helpers and staff did this version in 2010:

Then they did an 2015 update called, “Pray for the World,” in 2015…

And last October 30, 2018, they did an Operation World Prayer Resource called, “Window on the World, Revised Edition” with fact files, stories, “do you know” side bars and much more.

Who *knows* what they’ll do next?!!  : )

6) Support Raising Leaders Conference – Mobilize More

Stop by Scottsdale, Arizona for the upcoming SRLC – October 15-18, 2019

For the glory of God, Support-Raising Solutions champions biblical and relational support raising. They mobilize more prayer, more partners, and more praise for our Savior. Through this conference, you’ll learn how to shape the leadership culture in your organization in the area of support raising. Learn more at…

7) With the Close of Ramadan, I’m Already Missing Daily PrayerCasts

I’ll be honest: Ramadan was a spoiler for me. I looked forward to getting up every morning and catching the latest new PrayerCast video from the folks at OneWay Ministries. Once again, we’re all grateful for their work. But you can show their videos any time. By God’s grace, they assembled them in such a way that their use will be timeless. See the entire set at…

by scrolling all the way to the bottom of the long page.

8) You’ll Love the Pray.Network (125 sites!)

The Pray.Network site allows you to Add a photo, Reply to a discussion, Blog an insight, Post an event, Watch (and pray) a video, Join a group, and even Invite your friends/class. It’s a great idea and it’s implemented really well. What’s more, the site just *flows*. If you like to pray, check it out at…

(Thanks for suggesting this site to us, Betty!)

10) Fun to Watch this "Disciple-Making Practices" Video…

…not only to make fun of the speaker, but also to realize that, when the video was made (Apr. 18, 2017), researchers were tracking between 100 to 300 disciple-making movements in the entire globe. The last we heard, that number had now swollen to something more than 1000 movements all around the world. Let’s give praise to God for these indicators of rapid and fervent growth, then let’s get busy and join them!

11) What Makes a Great Short-term Trip? High Standards.

There’s no doubt: If you’re sloppy in setting up your short-term trip, you’ll invite sloppy results. Check out the standards at…

Some of the best practices they chronicle include God-Centeredness, empowering partnerships, mutual design, comprehensive administration, qualified leadership, appropriate training, and thorough follow-through. Certainly, if we all covered those 7 major points effectively, not only would churches be full of more missions-minded people, but we also believe the mission field would be more full of focused souls reaching the unengaged and the unreached. Also see a handful of case studies offered when we posed the question to Brigada audience …

13) We’re Grateful for…

…a $50 gift from Mission Network, because they want to help push resources, news, and trends out to missionaries all over the world. Thank you Mission Network!

14) The Last Bit: "Never a Cold Call Again"

This past month, while visiting with one of our teams in West Africa, I (Doug) was able to talk with a local leader who is being mentored by one of our missionaries there. The team there has been incredibly fruitful. (Last year they baptized 3,511 people and started 794 groups or “micro-churches.”) One stream of believers has multiplied (reproduced) 26 times. I asked what prompted it all. One leader responded to me, “We never have to make a cold call.” He proceeded to tell me about a man who recently knocked on the door of one of the believers there. The visitor asked, “Can you tell me why I felt such a strong compulsion to come and knock on your door?” The believer answered, “Yes! Most definitely,” and proceeded to tell him about Jesus. When we pray, heaven fights our battles for us. We never have to make a cold call again. Remember that next time you’re training others to follow up with inquirers. They’ll never call on a cold call ever again!
