1) Curtis Sergeant Has Refused to Write a Book: Until Now

He’s trained thousands — who have gone on to disciple HUNDREDS of thousands. In fact, probably only God knows — because Curtis would never tell. His humility wouldn’t have allowed for it. But now, you can order his first ever book — and he’s even arranged for you to receive it digitally for free. Just click to…

Click the button, “Get the free ebook!” Or read some of the endorsements first. We’ve read it — and it’s worth any price. Because it will help you, truly, become a disciple worth multiplying. The secret for all of us will be — that we read and DO it. “The movement starts with you.”

2) Fantastic Foundational Discipleship Tools (Teach English too!)

“A Simple Word” helps people understand the Bible. Written in Simple English so that the largest number of people can read, understand and translate it. “Simple Truths” contains 144 Questions and Answers of important truths about knowing God and following Jesus (translated into other languages – see “Downloads” on site). “Travel Guide to the Bible” provides a basic introduction to each book of the Bible. These resources and much more (in lots of languages) are available at…

3) Where Can We Learn More about How to Make and Multiply Disciples?

There are two recent books from two of the largest CPMs/DMMs in the world: Ying and Grace Kai’s Training for Trainers (WIGTake, 2018), and Victor John and Dave Coles, Bhojpuri Breakthrough (WIGTake 2019). Both books are available for volume discount at

These two movements alone have resulted in more than two million baptisms. Please don’t forget to keep praying for Grace, who, interestingly, is the discipler of Ying. She’s had a stroke, though, so far, it looks fairly mild. She’s lost some mobility, however. Please pray hard for her.

4) How Many Church-Planting Movements are There Now?

Can you remember when there were approximately 100? (I remember. David Garrison was talking about 100 as recently as the mid-2000’s.)

Can you remember when there were 700? (I remember. Jerry Trousdale was writing about 700 as recently as 2015.)

How many movements do you think there are today? You might be surprised. Verified by researchers whom I (Doug) know and trust implicitly, the numbers don’t lie. There are currently:

– 3293 known CPM Engagements,  – 1006 CPMs (Stage 5 multiple streams of 4+ gen churches),  – 73.0 million believers in all CPM engagements, – 4.3 million known churches in all CPM engagements,  – An average of 72K believers per CPM,  – An average of 17 believers per church in CPMs worldwide.

Thank you Lord for this amazing progress. Please — fire into flames the gifts of those who are following you to help these movements!!!

6) Get Vetted — then Read Accel’s First (August) Edition

Here’s a new journal by movement leaders FOR movement leaders. Accel magazine shares articles like, “The Most Exciting Aspects of Church Planting Movements,” “The Kingdom Business Project Summary,” as well as case studies about movements. Some of the key contributors are the same coaches who have helped leaders like Chris Galanos (From Megachurch to Multiplication) and many others who are multiplying churches and disciples. This journal appears to be helpful not only to those working overseas, but also those seeking to launch movements in North America, Australia, New Zealand and Europe. The wild part is – it’s free of charge, once you’re vetted. Start by filling out the form at:

7) Here’s Your Chance to Learn About 24:14 and Kingdom Movements

The printed book is finally “live” at Amazon. See it for under $9… and the Kindle version is as cheap as Kindle gets (99 cents). The 24:14 Vision is to see the gospel shared with every people group on earth in our generation. Organizers long to be in the generation that finishes what Jesus began and other faithful workers before us have given their lives to. Examples of kingdom movements can be found dotted throughout church history, yet God is doing something unique in our day. Movements are more numerous and widely spread than ever before. 24:14 Participants long to see the gospel proclaimed throughout the world as a testimony to all people groups in their lifetime. They hope you will catch that vision as you read and join them in praying and serving to start kingdom movements in every unreached people and place. Get the book. : )

Well done, 24:14.

8) The Tour about the Book: "The Rise and Fall of Movements"

In June, we got to hear Steve Addison, author of “The Rise and Fall of Movements.” Now the book is a tour! : ) If you can get to the USA, you can find out how close he’ll be to you by clicking to…

Watch his video on that page to learn more. His book is worth the read. Sometimes, the way you go INTO a movement can affect the way you come OUT!

9) Didasko Online Missions Training Now Available In 20 Languages

Didasko Academy recently added video subtitles in 20 languages to their free online video-based missions courses. A full list of languages can be found here:

Got to say — this looks like awesome stuff. And can it be that this training is free — and that donors can pitch in toward the cost if they want? Whoa. Great stuff.

10) Why are Brigada Items (email version) Out of Order Sometimes? : )

We get this question. When they’re out of order, we’re super-sorry. We can imagine that it’s an inconvenience. We use this complex process that involves a WordPress plug-in plus an RSS feed from the website. What we CAN tell you is that, when the email version is out of order, it’s usually because the plug-in vendor has updated something — and our RSS feed isn’t quite as compatible as it was before. We can always tell you that we’re always really sorry and we go to work on it immediately. Because of the nature of the way we do the edition, we can’t EXACTLY test it (like we used to test it in a simple MailChimp newsletter layout). But the PAYOFF is pretty large: When this approach work it saves us a couple of hours *per* *edition*. That’s huge. MOST of the time, we believe it works. Either way, we ALWAYS receive a copy so we ALWAYS see it the moment it happens. (If it’s out of order, no need to tell us. Sigh. We see it the same time you do.) We’re working to make sure it never happens again. We hope. : )

11) Wondering How Your Emailed Newsletter Will Be Received by Filters?

Wonder no more. Just browse to…

and click to get started. Copy the one-of-a-kind, unique email address you’re given as a destination, then send an email to that address. Moments later, you’ll receive a full report of how your email might have done “in the wild” on the internet. Try it — you’ll find out whether or not the internet will like YOU.

13) We’re Grateful for…

…the $50 gift from our friends at the Mission Network. We appreciate you!

…the $100 donation from friends in Dallas who love and appreciate unreached peoples. Thank you so much!!!!!!!

14) The Last Bit: How Do YOU Handle Your Cell Number When You Travel?

It’s super-handy these days that cell numbers can be so international — until that next vendor robodials you (again!) about some insurance deal, or the latest automobile extended warranty, or a credit card protection service! Seriously — receiving spam/scam calls via cell while traveling overseas is a DOUBLE hassle. Not only are you annoyed by the call itself, but in many countries, now you have to pay for the 25 cents because incoming calls cost you! So what do YOU do when you travel overseas with your smartphone? In the “old days,” I (Doug) would check with my carrier to make sure my phone was unlocked, then sign up for one of those SIM card companies… like…

www.onesimcard.com/(200 countries; free incoming calls in 160 of those; outgoing, 25 cents/min; $30 for the card; data is steep = $86 for the first gig!)

www.GIGSky.com (Data only, $10 for the card plus roughly $10/gig after that.)

www.WorldSIM.com (SIM card is free; free incoming calls; outgoing 17 cents/min.; texts 15 cents; Data is $1.15/meg

There are other vendors, like SIM Options, Orange, Three, True Move, and AIS.

These days, sometimes your carrier might have the better deal, actually. Verizon has a cool plan in which you just pay $10 per day for “all you can eat” calling and data (until you use up your normal limit, that is). Sprint’s plan is similar (except those grandfathered in with the legacy unlimited data get unlimited data for free while traveling – super-cool feature.) So maybe — Check with your carrier first.
