I look for books on sale in book stores (like Barnes and Noble) and often I find a gem for very little and buy up lots.

I also look for nearly-new books in garage sales, library sales, etc. When we travel to visit supporters, I have a big box of books for them to choose from and they have fun picking out one or two. I tell them SOME of them are not new, but that doesn't seem to bother them.

When I see other appropriate gift items, instead of buying them in a store, I call the provider directly and usually get a much lower price for a bulk order.

Lately, I came across some gorgeous oriental carpet bookmarks woven in designs originating from the 1600-1700's. They cost about $1.50 each. They are at http://www.orientalcarpetcreations.com/catalog/bookmark/index.htm or 1-888-606-5622

Gorgeous note cards (3 3/4 x 5 1/4") with beautiful Christian sentiments for birthdays, sympathy, get-well, Easter, Christmas, etc. Come in boxes of 10 for $3.50. 1) Prepaid Telephone Cards ... there is a company in Toronto Canada that produces an affinity card for missions ... normally they are $5.00 cards (they might do a $2.50 card) - the mission gets 35% of the sale for their work, the remainder is for the cost of producing the card and phone services. Number of minutes vary depending on where you are calling - within Canada 195 minutes for 5$ - to England 299 minutes etc...Zimbabwe 30 minutes etc. You can have your own MISSION affinity prepaid phone card - or you could utilize some of our mission card - we would sell them at a discounted $4.00 per card. May I suggest what I call gift & incentive albums? They make a great way to say "thank you" to those who have contributed to you over the year.
