8) That Huge Nation in Asia is Hoping to Educate (Eradicate) Viruses

Of course, the only problem is, Human Rights Watch is reporting that they consider matters of faith equivalent to a virus. This is nothing short of a campaign of repression against Islam — but presumably it could be applied to all religions. Learn more at…

10) Sojourner’s Workbook will Help You Transition Well

Are you about to transition to the field – or do you know someone who is? Connie Befus has put together a guide called the Sojourner’s Workbook, available on Amazon at…

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BTGZ99N/ref=dp-kindle-redirect?_encoding=UTF8&btkr=1

designed to help missionaries navigate the challenges of their first term on the field. This book is the result of Connie’s clinical and teaching experience as well as feedback and contributions from field workers and member care practitioners who have used and are using the content on their teams. Connie herself grew up in Africa and has also lived in Central and South America. She has used her research, her experience overseas and her expertise as a psychologist to train, counsel and encourage cross-cultural workers for over 35 years. (Thanks to Dr. Michele O’Donnell and Dr. Kelly O’Donnell for writing this past week to make us aware of this resource.)

11) Office Lense App Helps Your Smartphone Capture the Big Picture

Here’s a Microsoft Office app that helps you capture the entire document or whiteboard. It even compensates for keystone effects (if you’re not able to square up the picture, the app will automatically square things up for you!). It’s free — and it works. See it for iPhone at…

14) The Last Bit: This One’s for “Journal Prayer Junkies!”

Our good friend, Betty Byrd, is Vice President of Prayer at Team Expansion. She wrote us last week to say, “Journals help keep me on track in prayer! I haven’t always used journals, but the longer my list grew, the more I have needed ways to keep me organized and praying for what I had promised and needed to pray. Here are some of my favorites along the way (listed in the order in which I used them beginning about 12 years ago):

Prayers of My Heart: A Personal Prayer Journal by Debbie Williams
Published by Howard Publishing Co., Inc. in 2004
Includes calendars for prayer requests for a month at a glance and calendars for prayer requests for a week at a glance with twelve columns across and seven rows down….six columns for family and six columns for others. The final section of the book includes lined pages for meditations, notes, and prayers.

Find it on Amazon at…

Personal Prayer Diary/Daily Planner
YWAM Publishing (a new one every year)
This planner/journal includes a Bible-reading plan and daily prayer points for needs around the world, mission information, maps and illustrated profiles on people and countries.

The Lord Bless You and Keep You Journal by Ellie Claire
Published in 2014 by Ellie Claire
This is simple Journal with a verse of Scripture or a quotation on every page. A friend gave me this journal as a gift at Christmas and I decided to dedicate it to six months of prayer for an unreached people group, the Sylheti people of Bangladesh. The verses and quotations helped to guide my prayers for the Sylheti during those months.

We Walk by Faith and Not by Sight Journal
2016 Pen and Paint by Lindsay Hopkins
This was journal was a gift from another friend. It also has a Scripture verse on every page as well as pages of verses to color. If you love praying Scripture and meditating on Scripture, you will enjoy using this publication as a prayer and meditation journal.

the Pray! Prayer Journal by Dean Ridings
A NavPress resource published in alliance with Tyndale House Publishers
This is my current all-time favorite prayer journal. I have ordered a new one for several years now. It contains a section for weekly requests and sections for daily requests for each month of the year. Each month has a different prayer focus. Following the built-in Bible reading plan of about five chapters a day allows you to read through the Bible in a year.

(Thanks a ton, Betty!)
