11) “Catalysts For Movements Internship”, October 2017 to June 2018

The CFMI is a fast-start multi-organizational effort aimed at reaching every people group in North Africa. Their interns will learn Arabic language and culture while being mentored and equipped in Inner Healing, Intercession, Disciple-Making Movements, Effective Teamwork, Leadership, Kingdom Business, Training/Education and other Access ministries. 12) Locally Developed Children’s Bible Story Book for Haiti

“Stories for Life” is a children’s interactive Bible story and activity book, written by Claudia Hessing in Haitian Creole. It’s focused especially for parents and Sunday School teachers to address children growing up in nominal Catholic/Voodoo culture. The cost is just $2.00/book. To learn more, email Claudia at…
godbless_claudia@yahoo.com or call
509-3851-2797 or 509-3210-2715 in the USA. The group would even consider donating the booklets to other ministries if needed.

13) We’re Grateful for…

The $30 gift from the folks at “Returning Well,” a book — and groups — about reentering one’s home culture after cross-cultural work. Learn more at…

http://www.returningwell.com/groups.html
and another $30 gift from “Fund the Ministry.” Learn more at…

https://fundtheministry.com/

and a couple from Waynesboro, VA, who sent $50, along with a note, “Thank you for your ministry.” God bless you guys!

Would you consider sending a cash gift of any amount to help empower Brigada like the above ministries did? It’s easy to give. Just please click “Donate” at www.brigada.org, or mail a check payable to Team Expansion (Brigada), 13711 Willow Reed Drive, Louisville, KY 40299. Team Expansion is a 501(c)3 incorporation so, for USA citizens, your gift to Christ through Team Expansion is tax-deductible. Thank you, in advance, for your partnership!

14) Glad for all the New Data on Cultural Differences

We’re hearing a lot about Honor/Shame cultural differences these days. For example, check out the infographic at…

http://honorshame.com/culture/

It’s entitled, “Cultural Vantage Points” and it explains how cultures of the East and West (mis)perceive each other’s values. If this were your basis, thank of how you might misperceive the other person. And these are just SOME of the typical axis points of misunderstanding. Seems like it would behoove every traveler to go through this chart FIRST, before traveling, in an effort to prepare for the [possibly] huge cultural differences between “Here” and “there.” (Thanks Allan!)

Does your church or agency have a great training piece for cross-cultural travelers (short-term or long)? If so, we’d love to see it, especially if the church or org would let others use the materials.

3) Rome to Rio will Show You the Pathway!

Thanks to Robby, who reminded us this past week how cool it is to use…

https://www.rome2rio.com/

for travel. Whether you’re going by plane, train, bus, automobile, or horseback (ok, maybe not for horseback), Rome2Rio is the place to start looking for travel. Even if you have a favorite travel agent, this site will help you help them. Seems like this should be our first stop, no matter WHERE we’re headed. (Warning: If you put in your destination is “Heaven,” they actually help you design a trip to this special nightclub in London. So Rome2Rio is NOT the best source for a routing to quite EVERY destination.)
