1) Train Your Partners in the Global South on Magazine Editing & More

Magazine Training International offers four to five-week online publishing courses (for a very small fee) and one-hour free Webinars on publishing topics. These are specifically for Christian magazine editors and staff in the Developing World, but American magazine staff also take advantage of them. They also offer 10 free ebooks each year and free web-based training videos, along with lots of resources on their web site. They are also organizing a conference in Hungary this year regarding their Crisis Publishing Initiative. This is for Christian writers, editors, publishers, bloggers worldwide who have to report and write in the midst of crisis. Learn more about these and other options at…

2) Love the Ministry Training at IHOPU Online

I (Doug) remember visiting the International House of Prayer (“IHOP” — no relationship to the pancake place) in Kansas City, MO. I think I arrived at 4pm or so. I walked in and, sure enough, a talented group of musicians were leading worship, singing and prayer. I checked my phone and — wow — it was being live-streamed real-time on the web. Smart, sharp, dedicated people. Now, we see they’ve launched a great online learning center to match. They’ve made the classes flexible, the prices reasonable, and the content terrific. Check it out and please let us know what you think afteward.

any time night or day from anywhere in the world. It’s always on, and some of the content runs in 8 different languages.

5) Documentary Video Series: SICK IN AFRICA

Tim had been a cross-cultural worker for over 15 years and realized midway through his last term that he still didn’t understand the basics of why his African friends did what they did and believed what they believed when it came to healing from their ailments. Traditional medicine, fear of curses, preferential treatments, bribery, lack of compassion, lack of resources… so many challenges. See it firsthand at…

6) New Book on Diaspora Missions

Check out the latest from Urban Loft Publishers: “Mosaic: A Ministry Handbook for a Globalizing World” by Jared Looney and Seth Bouchelle. These guys share their insights and stories from years of ministry experience among the diverse population of New York City, drawing out principles you’ll find practical where ever you live. This is a great text that makes missions principles accessible to a lay audience.

7) If You Live in These 7 States in the USA, The Clock is Ticking…

If you live in WA, MT, MN, MO, KY, PA, or ME, the clock is ticking on your driver’s license. After January 30th, 2018, the TSA will no longer accept driver’s licenses from these states unless something changes in the next year. So you’ll literally need a passport to fly – even domestically! Check it out at Homeland Security’s website…
