1) ConnecTEFL: Online Certification for Teaching English

ConnecTEFL is an affordable 15 week, 120 hour teaching English as a foreign language certification program. You can take the course onsite in Memphis, TN or online anywhere in the world. The certificate meets the globally accepted TESOL International short-term certificate standards. Get trained to teach English to arriving refugees or to obtain genuine work abroad. Learn more at…

2) Is there a Job Search Missions Bulletin Board Anywhere?

staff-wantedRemember the good ole days when a group called “Intercristo” carried job listings for missionaries — and profiles of willing workers too. Suppose someone wants to find ministry opportunities these days — I’m thinking foreign, but I guess it could list those in one’s homeland too. Ideally, it would specify whether the jobs are paid, or exclusively support-raised. Is there such a thing???

3) Learn about Islam from Muslims at this One-Day Seminar

Want to hear about Islam from the mouth of those who practice it? Attend this one-day conference, “War, Peace and Compassion” in Louisville, Kentucky, from 11am through 6pm on Nov. 5th on the University of Louisville’s Belknap Campus. Learn the basics, the virtues and merits, explore jihad and the “violent verses” side by side with Muslim clerics, hear Muslims debunk the hate-speech, and ask questions of Muslims themselves.

Lunch and refreshments will be served. Use code interfaith20 for a 20% discount. If you have questions, write Imam Mohammed Wasif Iqbal…

(Originally learned about this from Martin, then corresponded directly with Imam Iqbal to learn even more details.)

4) TESOL Training in Asia

Get TESOL training for those in ministry at a ministry budget price. Asean Center for TESOL offers an intensive, five-week course leading to a TESOL certificate in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Get classes, community experience, and lots of guidance – and a certificate – all at the same time. It might end up being less expensive to fly to Thailand and take this course than it would be to take a similar course in your homeland! For more information, see…

5) New Prayer Book Just Published Last Week

We’ve been waiting for the sequel to “Red Moon Rising” for years. Now, available for the first time (just published last week), Pete Greig’s book, “Dirty Glory,” will likely inspire and challenge. See the trailer here…

I say, “likely” because, having watched the trailer, I still can’t exactly tell what it’s ABOUT. But I like the tag line, “Go Where Your Best Prayers Take You.” Anyone read this yet who can comment on it? If it’s like Red Moon Rising, it will be GREAT.
