Hackers and internet bad guys are getting more and more creative in their efforts to take you down (or, at least, take control of your laptop). For example, you might receive an email claiming to offer you an Amazon gift card. You click on the link, which takes you to what looks like Amazon’s log-on screen, but really, it’s a bad-guy’s site and he wants to steal your Amazon log-on credentials, then use them to purchase what HE wants to buy with YOUR credit card. Or she might want to install a virus when you click Either way, our opinion here at Brigada is plain and simple: There’s so much corruption in the Internet landscape that, from this point onward, it’s best never to click on a link in any such email. After reading this article on “9 Ways to Counter Radical Islam,” I guess I’m still left mystified at how the “every day Joe” gets involved. Even if I were a government leader, I would still have trouble knowing what to do. Can anyone read this article, then, in the comments that follow the web version of this item, translate this article into practical everyday steps for me? What can I do to help a radicalized Muslim world?

I’ve been curious (ever since hearing David Garrison at Finishing the Task) about the rather amazing numbers of Muslims who were said to be making Jesus their Lord. Then, in an exchange last week with Patrick Johnstone, creator of the Operation World materials, about a related matter (his take on disciple making movements), he happened to mention that he had just finished a careful analysis, based on the best figures he had available. Patrick assembled one of the best networks ever to try to gather and validate data across the years. So his response meant a lot. What was his conclusion? Based on his conservative figures, in 1960, there were fewer than 60,000 Muslim background believers worldwide. By 2012, he counted (realistically) around 10 million. Whoa. That’s HUGE growth by ANY measure. God be praised.
