1) Online Discipleship Leadership Training for your Ministry Team

climbing helping team work , success concept

This free online course by Dynamic Churches International teaches how to excel as a discipler of new believers and mature Christians.
Have your ministry leaders benefit from 15 hours of insightful video and audio coaching with downloadable guides in Christian Ministry Academy. They will get course certificates on successful completion of the online comprehension assessments.

3) New Training for Bi-Vocational Missionaries

Global Frontier Missions has been training missionaries to serve among unreached people groups for over 15 years. Now, in addition to the intensive five month program designed for people that raise their own support, GFM is offering a 10 month missionary residency based on NoPlaceLeft 4 fields church planting principles. This program is designed for bi-vocational, tentmakers, or Business as Mission professionals that want to gain cross-cultural CPM experience.

4) Missio Nexus Mission Leaders Conference to Offer Nine Tracks

Mission Nexus’ “Mission Leaders Conference 2018” is offering nine strategic workshop tracks. Though your role, position, or interest may fit a particular track you are not locked into attending only that one. (We love it when people are flexible. : ) ) You can focus on Executive Leadership, Human Resources, Mobilization, Global Strategies, Member Health, Short-Term Missions, Globally Engaged Churches, Mission Finance and Administration, and, appropriately enough, Training. There are descriptions of these and other offerings at…

You can also register at the bottom of that page.

5) Become a MailChimp Master with These 20 Free Video Tutorials

This free online course in Christian Ministry Academy will give you insights on how to easily use MailChimp to inform your supporting community. Whether you are a missionary or are on the leadership team of a church or a ministry, you need an email broadcasting service that takes care of the complicated stuff of communicating with your ministry stakeholders. CMA also provides free social media management resources to ministry workers.

6) Want to Teach School in Kosova This Fall and Be Paid For It?

Now you can. Classes are in English. And it’s a paid gig. They need teachers for 4th grade, 5th grade, middle school social studies, high school English, and HS Science. They have the curriculum and textbooks available for each subject. You need a bachelor degree in the subject you would be teaching, but not necessarily a teaching certificate (though it is welcome). They provide one round-trip airfare to Kosova and a stipend of 1000E per month (roughly $1200 per month). School beings on September 3, 2018 and ends the end of June, 2019. Questions? Email John

8) New Personal Security Videos Help You Travel More Safely

Crisis Consulting International Recently let us have a look inside some of their newest streamed online video offerings. Wow. These are all tiny nuggets of gold. Short and to the point, these training videos feature practical ways you can protect yourself, your family, and your cause. Topics include: Travel Safety and Security (packing, airports, taxis, hotels, profile and dress, money) Personal Safety and Security (profile management, surveillance management, avoidance, awareness, managing violent encounters). See the offerings at…

You could start with the $35 course. It’s ideal for those participating in church and short-term mission trips, less experienced cross-cultural workers, and for those working long-term in areas of moderate risk. (Thanks to John, the Training Manager, for all the great work on these!)

10) What’s Your Take on “Breaking Generational Curses?” (book)

I (Doug) go back and forth on this kind of thing. Sometimes I see something that makes me believe — and other times, not so much. Marilyn Hickey has finally written a book on the subject. Guess I need to read it and make a decision. Where do YOU land on the topic of generational curses?

11) Want to Pray Like the King? There’s a Book for That

Did you ever wonder why a particular prayer among the millions of prayers prayed made its way into the Bible? God obviously had something to teach us by its inclusion. Pray Like the King looks at the prayers of Old Testament Kings and Jesus, the King of Kings. Gain encouragement and practical suggestions that will make your connection with God stronger, more effective, and more vibrant. Pray Like the King.

14) The Last Bit: Maybe I’m Finally Getting the Honor-Shame Thing

Just when I thought I’d never quite understand the whole honor-shame themes, I travel these past two weeks with a Christian ministry leader from East Africa. We had HOURS in the truck to talk as we ventured down highways and biways and he was SO patient to help me grapple with this theme and others. And just when I started to pick it up, … Can you believe it? Here’s a cool new map that lets you discover geographically which countries lean more toward shame, or guilt, or fear as a motivator. Someone invested a lot of time in this.

This map visualizes data from 25,000 visits to “The Culture Test,” previously highlighted here in Brigada. It not only provides a snapshot overview of global culture types, but also allows for deeper research into each country. Where does YOUR country land in the color spectrum of shame, honor, guilt, and fear?

You can learn more about these themes by visiting …

or by reading the book, The 3DGospel.
