12) SIL’s “Languages of the World” site is a Great Sourcebook

If you haven’t visited SIL’s “Languages of the World” page lately, you might want to stop by.
http://www.sil.org/worldwide

They not only show an infographic map with points featuring “robust” and “endangered” languages (7,106 languages in the world, they say), but they also list the links to their regional SIL bases. Many (most?) have their own specific site. For example, see SIL Ethiopia at…

13) We’re Grateful for…

…the folks at Mission Data International, who sent $200 this past week, twice over True Fans of Brigada. God bless you.
… an anonymous worker in N. Africa who wrote, “Thanks to Brigada for great contributions to the Kingdom every week.” This worker enclosed a $100 gift to Jesus through Brigada for the sake of unreached peoples. God bless you!
… a $100 gift from a True Fan of Brigada in Spokane, WA. Thank you!

14) The BackPage: What was the Biggest Story in 2015? Your Opinion?

In your opinion, what was the biggest story for the past year? … the one that impacted your work and those around you the most? The story that holds the greatest potential for making the world different… or leaving it in a different place?

Many will probably point to the migrant/refugee crisis, especially in Europe. BBC recently did a summary catch-up story at…

http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-34131911

They say that on Dec. 21st, the world saw a major milestone pass: 1 million migrants had come to Europe in 2015 by land or sea. See their helpful maps and text for full explanation of which countries received the most — and the least. You can also see which countries received the most applications for asylum. The results might surprise you. Also presented: Top-ten countries of origin. You won’t be surprised at the number one homeland (Syria), but you might be surprised at the number two.

But what story is bigger than this for you? Just click on “Comment” after the web version of this item and share your idea (anonymously if you wish).

1) With One More Week to Go, Brigada Fans Boost us to 47% of our Goal

End-of-Year-367x235We are now entering the final 7 days of 2015. With just one more edition of Brigada remaining, many great friends and fans sent $801 this past week, bringing the total gifts during 2015 to $8087. That’s so humbling and encouraging. As you know, our budget for the year is $17,120, however, which means we are about 47% of the way there. With $9033 yet to go, there are several ways this could happen. One amazing booster could give an online gift of $9000 and finish the entire campaign — and we’d be set for all of 2016. We wouldn’t mention fundraising again for another year and God would have provided in an amazing way. Or, 90 more “True Fans” of Brigada could step up to the plate to say, “Hey, take this $100 and may it empower you forward for another year of ministry for Jesus Christ to motivate, inform, and resource a world full of workers to reach the world’s remaining unreached peoples.” Either way, would you join us in prayer, thanking God for what He has done so far and asking Him to work mightily in the remaining week? Thank you for your partnership and shared vision.

To make a gift to Brigada, just mail a check payable to Team Expansion (Brigada), 13711 Willow Reed Drive, Louisville, KY 40299. Team Expansion is a 501(c)3 incorporation so, for USA citizens, your gift to Christ through Team Expansion is tax-deductible. If you’d rather give online, just click

2) New Book on Global Partnerships

paul-3d-278x300“Walk This Way: a better path to global engagement” was just released by Dr. Paul McGuinness and 181 Publishing. As Dr. McGuinness writes, God is moving in unbelievable ways around the world, and the Western church has a part to play in the story. But are we in danger of missing out due to an unhealthy approach to global engagement? It’s not that churches aren’t already involved in cross-cultural ministry. It’s that, too often, we bring the wrong mindset to international ministry and move down a rocky path.” Through case studies, practical experience, and biblical principles, “Walk This Way” presents a new model for global ministry that honors the work God is doing and mobilizes the American church to greater engagement. We’re looking forward to reading this book ourselves. Check it out at:
