Commit to planting a vibrant new church
among some least reached city or people group,
Enlist the help of other
congregations to be involved in this project or others.
Next step is a mailing to the church leaders within the next 10 days, thanking them for signing on, confirming their intent, and explaining 4 possible models for pursuing their goals. Under the "Set the Pace" Guidebook plans, the leaders would first invest these next 30 days in prayer prior to approaching others in their congregations in an attempt to mobilize them to join in. All 152 churches would participate in the "Praying Through the Window II" campaign during October. They wouldn't actually choose their people group or city until early December, after a month of focused prayer toward the city or group recommended by church leadership the first of Nov. Envision '96 leadership met all day yesterday trying to plan "next steps" and follow-up. About 30 "facilitators" will be appointed and trained for catalyzing five churches respectively. Each new PACE church will be asked to begin a Brigada conference for its respective least reached people or city. Thereby , when newcomers join Brigada, they'll be able to find out which groups have already been engaged by an adopting church and/or agency. In this way, each city or group will have a kind of "billboard" or pointer, so that information will be available for majority world peoples (to encourage networking) and other Western churches as well. And please join us in praying that these leaders (some preachers, some missions committee chairpeople, and some active members) will be able to multiply their vision into the hearts and lives of others in their churches.
