THIS IS IT - OCTOBER PRAYING THROUGH THE WINDOW STARTS THIS
WEEKEND
Okay, folks... this is the month the world awaited. Join the 50 million
(probably literally) people on Sunday as we kick off "
Praying Through the
Window II, Praying for the
100 Gateway Cities of the 10/40 Window"! All the
hubbub (is that how you spell hubbub??) won't mean a thing unless you dig
out those 8 1/2 x 14 brochures and carry them around with you starting
Sunday. If we say we're missionaries or mission executives but don't take
this thing seriously, well... "Should I not be concerned...?" was a line
that God used with Jonah about another city, as I recall. Join Him in that
Godly concern and pray for the 100 Gateway Cities.

PRAYING THROUGH THE WINDOW II RESOURCES
We've received
some great
responses on
Praying Through the Window II.
In fact, we've just wrapped 'em
up in a file and put them out there where you can pull 'em in. To receive
nine pages full of ideas on how to mobilize your
church during October for
praying for the 100 Gateway Cities of the 10/40 Window
, send email to
hub@xc.org with only
the following line in the body of the message text:
get brigada 100gwcideas
By the way, if you've lost that 8 1/2 x 11 brochure, the entire list of
cities is included as a portion of this resource packet.
Of special importance is the AIMS homepage, now located at:
http://the700club.org/AIMS/AIMS.html
It would be a great place to explore as each day passes through October!

MATING GAME
Sure enough, within the next two weeks, we'll be premiering a
conference that will be attempting to match people with mission
opportunities around the world. God has raised up a pair of super
moderators for this task.

GLOBAL GLIMPSE
A young guerrilla in Colombia tells how he was assigned
to blow up a church but could not: "The following morning, heavily armed, I
forced my way into the church. I ordered the pastor to baptize me. He
murmured something about Bible classes which I needed, but changed his mind
when I pushed the barrel of my gun into his ribs. I was baptized on the
spot, and have served God without interruption since." He now visits and
encourages persecuted Christians in Columbia's mountains.

MISSIONS CLIP ART - WHERE IS IT?
A Brigada participant emailed this past
week looking for good quality clip art for missions brochures and the like.
We ran into a general package, ClickArt - 800-986-2537 -- 25,000 images for
$50. In addition, Kingdom Graphics (2713 Mt. Vernon Av., Willow Grove, PA
19090, Tel: 215-657-5888 Fax: 215-657-4847) has a specific Missions
Graphics set, (many are in encapsulated postscript, but most in 'tif'
format). Are there others? If you know of one, please send it to
BrigadaCoord@xc.org with subject, "Clip Art".

HELP FOR MISSIONARY KIDS
Barbara Haas
aa3141@freenet.lorain.oberlin.edu
is looking for a ministry that seeks to help missionary kids who are
suffering from less than best adjustment during their younger years. She's
in touch with one who needs help. He's "been suicidal since his teen years.
He was sent off to boarding school and never learned to communicate with his
parents." Note that we've already suggested Narramore and MKNet and she
wasn't looking for that... She wanted something that would allow him to talk
these problems through. If you have an idea, please correspond directly
with Barbara about it.

"WEB SITES YA GOTTA' CHECK OUT"
This week's suggestion comes from Matt
Benjamin
Matt_Benjamin@sil.org on Sikh resources:
http://www.io.org:80/~sandeep/sikhism.htm
http://www.biologie.uni-freiburg.de/~amueller/religion/sikh.html
Not sure why it has taken us until now to present this one. After all,
Jesus commanded us to do this one first. Matt 5:33.

BRIGADA TODAY BACK-ISSUES
Did you know you could punch
up Brigada Today's
back issues?
Just point your browser to the Brigada www homepage
and do some sniffing around. You'll even find a
topical index that
organizes matters by subject rather than by issue date!!! Thanks to Bob
Mayhew, our amazing WebMaster, whom we hope God rewards luxuriously in
Heaven, because, as you know, Brigada doesn't pay him much here on earth!!!
[zero, zilch, nada!!! He does it as a ministry!] Bob has recently finished
the transformation of all Brigada back-issues into
HTML code just for you
on the worldwide web. I can't tell you how thankful I am for his partnership!!!

YIKES - THE MISSING LINK! (CAN YOU FIND SOMEONE HEADED TO TRIPOLI!)
Just
this morning, we received this message from Mark Wilson
mark.wilson@cbn.org, co-coordinator of "Praying Through the Window II":
Doug,
We got Beirut covered but now we have no teams registered who are
going to Tripoli, Libya. Hopefully someone on Brigada might help us
again with this information. Thanks!!
Mark
All right. Who can we think of that might be on a cruise to Libya???
Seriously, if you know of someone who can participate in praying "on site
with insight" there during the month of October, write to CIN at
73422.3471@compuserve.com.
Is there at least anyone
going to the shores of Tripoli???

VIDEO GUIDELINES
As groups from all over the world leave for
the 10/40 Window, Stan Jeter
(Senior Producer for CBN) and Mark Wilson (Co-Coordinator for Praying
Through the Window II) would like to offer
suggestions to those who might be
gathering video footage. Some may have the opportunity to share that
footage with CBN for video reports on Praying Through the Window II. If
you'd like to see Stan's suggestions, send email to
hub@xc.org with only the
following line in the body of the message text:
get brigada video-guidelines
(These pointers are probably
going to be valuable to you no matter
where you're capturing images, 10/40 Window or otherwise! Thanks Stan and
Mark.)

WE JUST SAW THIS ANNOUNCEMENT MOMENTS AGO ON DFWMOBILIZERS' CONFERENCE
Thanks to John Anderson for sharing revealing that the
brigada-pubs-globalprayerdigest is going to run daily reminder announcements
featuring "a single unreached people group from one of the
100 Gateway
Cities being prayed for that day." To subscribe, send an e-mail message to
hub@xc.org with only the following line in
the body of the message text:

IF YOU'RE TRAVELING WITH A COMPUTER....
John Hanna, who prepares the
Global Glimpses featured each week in Brigada Today, has volunteered to
receive and digest email reports from the 10/40 Window. Send them to
JHanna@cproject.com and he'll assemble
them in sets that we can then post
on Brigada as files for retrieval and on the worldwide web for those who
browse. We can list the index of files to retrieve in each
week's Brigada Today. So... if you're traveling to the
Window and can get access to a PC,
send email to John and keep the world informed!
Have a great week!
