SOMETHING'S DEVELOPING FOR INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Better put,
something's already developed! The folks at Pacific Christian College have
been working hard on an MBA/MS in International Development programme -- and
the first classes are scheduled for August, 1996. According to
administrator Alan Rabe, "The programme is accredited by WASC, intensely
practical, taught online by international experts, and will be delivered
totally by e-mail to missionaries, nationals and others around the world."
Cool.
On-line grad school.
What'll they think of next!?! Would you want
to earn an MBA, MS or Certificate in International Development from a US
Christian College while you work abroad? Then send a message to
AlanR@XC.Org and see what develops!

PLAN NOW FOR THE INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER FOR THE PERSECUTED CHURCH
It's Sept. 29, 1996 -- and it's all about praying for those who are facing
persecution. " Despite the rapid growth in the number of democracies
worldwide over the past several years, religious freedoms have not increased
but have clearly gotten worse," says the WEF Religious Liberty Commission
(Tel. USA 206/742-7923). "WEF believes that religious liberty is the
foundation for all other human rights and therefore must be protected and
promoted." For more info. or promotional materials, write

ANTIOCH NETWORK LAUNCHES ON-LINE CONFERENCE
"A quiet revolution in
local-church mission initiative has emerged over the last decade, with the
Antioch Network playing a key role in gathering churches to this movement
and helping them develop their vision," says church leader Ed Mattson.
"Antioch is led by a network of church leaders across broad denominational
lines. It enthusiastically partners with other agencies, advocates for
excellence in character and leadership, develops unreached peoples tracks to
aid adopting churches and appeals to the gifting of a broad base of church
members for the sake of outreach to unreached peoples. They also offer
seminars and an annual gathering which tends to leave participating churches
reeling with a sense of destiny and possibilities. They now have their own
conference on Brigada! If you are a pastor, a church mission chairperson or
committee member, an agency representative, or a mobilizer and advocate for
propelling the local church toward effective mission, you will definitely
want to check this out! New subscribers are screened, so e-mail Ed Mattson,
the conference moderator, at
EdMattson@XC.Org for a short but fairly
painless shakedown before entering. Or, subscribe directly by sending an
email message to

(This extra information [name and email address] is normally not needed to
subscribe to other Brigada conferences. It is being requested for this
conference only because they are screening each new subscriber.)

RUSHIN' TO RUSSIA? NEED THE LANGUAGE?
Write Russian Language
Ministries at
73354.304@CompuServe.COM and learn about their Russian
language offerings. Mark Canner, Director, says, "All the programs we offer
at Russian Language Ministries are intensive. This means that the student
studies in the classroom five hours per day during the semester programs and
six hours per day during the summer. Summer programs are located on the
campus of Columbia International University (formerly Columbia Bible College
& Seminary), Columbia, SC. All courses are accredited at the graduate or
undergraduate level." RLM is a non-profit, full-time ministry devoted to
equipping missionaries to effectively make disciples in the countries of the
Former Soviet Union. "Our courses are specifically designed for
missionaries," explains Mark, "which means that we emphasize the linguistic
skills needed to live and minister in Russian-speaking countries. Students
learn the language needed for both life and ministry. In addition to
focusing on survival in the culture, we spend much of our time working on
biblical and ecclesiastical terminology, Russian apologetics, etc., so that
the student can develop the skills needed to disciple Russian speakers and
lead Bible studies and small discipleship groups."

LIFE NEEDS FOUR LIVES IN JAPAN
LIFE Ministries (San Dimas, CA) is
urgently in need of four more workers to join them in Japan this summer in
their long-established church-based outreach known as "Scrum Dendo."
Training begins in Los Angeles June 16. According to Gordon Black, "Scrum
Dendo workers teach conversational English classes and build relationships
with their students in partnership with a Japanese congregation. The
churches ready to receive their summer missionaries have already begun
promoting in their communities but four recruits have backed out at the last
minute leaving LIFE in a bind. If you or someone you know, considered
spending this summer in meaningful service to the Lord but thought it was
too late to apply to a program, it's not! You are needed. At this point
qualified people are currently more important than raising the $3375.00 to
support each of them. LIFE requests a real effort to be made to raise up a
prayer and financial support team but they are willing to work with you. If
you can be of help, please contact Tim Clark toll free from North America at
1-800-LIFE-678 or via e-mail at
71561.1373@compuserve.com."

GLOBAL GLIMPSE FROM KOREA
A grass roots movement focusing on a church
for every people group is gaining momentum, strength and spiritual vitality
in North East Asia. Last week Korean Church leaders committed to focus on
1,150 unreached ethnic groups and launch a church planting effort for each.
These groups are many of those who most need the gospel and are spread
across the 10/40 Window. This was one outcome while 124 participants from
16 nations representing NE Asian countries and allied ministries combined
forces enthusiastically at a consultation in Seoul, Korea.
