FROM THE "YOU'VE-GOT-TO-ORDER-THIS-VIDEO DEPARTMENT"
Remember
Light the Window, which riveted us to pray for the 100 Gateway Cities of the
10/40 Window?? Well there's a sequel!!! And it's going to be available
moments after this announcement! In a Brigada Today exclusive, the
producers of To the Ends of the Earth were willing to allow us the
privilege of announcing this first class newest prayer video. It's the
resource you'll use over and over again during the coming 12 months. The
story??? "PRAYING THROUGH THE WINDOW III: THE UNREACHED PEOPLES." This
prayer initiative introduces and develops the concept of "unreached
peoples" and challenges the church to be involved in strategic prayer in
order to see the Gospel presented, and a culturally relevant, reproducing
church established in each of the least evangelized people groups of the
10/40 Window. As in last October's "Praying Through the Window II: the 100
Gateway Cities", there is a 30 day prayer guide book available to use with
the professionally produced video. The book, simply titled "The Unreached
Peoples", is a 120 page guide focusing on gateway people clusters mainly
from within the 10/40 Window and leads the reader through informative
prayers for each of these peoples. The video, To the Ends of the Earth ,
expresses God's heart from Genesis to Revelation that all peoples (nations
or ethne) would worship him. The mobilization of massive, informed, heart
felt prayer is the foundation upon which all successful evangelistic
efforts for the remaining "unreached people groups" must be built. As in
last year's "Light the Window" video there is a long version suitable for
broadcast (approx. 28 minutes long), and a shorter version (approx. 12
minutes long) that you could use for Sunday Schools or worship services.
When I heard about this production, I wrote the producers and asked for a
special advance copy to preview, in preparation for a special event we're
launching on Nov. 1st --
Envision '96. They were kind enough to send one
pre-production. Wow! First class gang. Same stunning footage, same
fast-paced music/video, same heart-piercing message.... pray, pray, pray.
This is one to get, gang. Ordering Information: Christian Information
Network is the primary distributor of these tools. The book, "The Unreached
Peoples" is $8.99 plus Shipping + Handling. You won't find anything more
earthshaking. Bulk order pricing is available. The video, "To the Ends of

HUBMARKS
Did you miss an important message in your conference? Can't
quite remember an address someone gave? Nyet Pro-BLEM! Brigada conferences
are automatically archived message
by message!!! For information on how
to access previously broadcasted conference messages, send email to
hub@xc.org with only the words
get brigada help-detailed
and in a few
moments, you'll receive an email message containing frequently asked
questions about Brigada conferences - See
Section 8. By the way, this file
was just revised this morning... so you might want to get an update on it
just to keep a current copy handy. Make sure you send the "get" message to
hub@xc.org and not brigada@brigada.org!

THE BEST FREE EMAIL FOR THE NEXT 12 MONTHS
... if you live in the USA
and are willing to switch back to AT&T for your long distance carrier, then
it's a no-brainer! Run... don't walk... to call AT&T WorldNet toll-free
at 1-800-431-0800 ext. 21627 or see their web site at
http://www.att.com/worldnet. With over 300 POPS ("points of presence" -- or
local phone nodes where you can log on) in the USA, they've got most cities
covered and you can't beat the price: FREE!!! If you're an AT&T long
distance customer, you get up to 5 hrs/mo. access for free, and even after
that it's just $2.50 per hour. What's more, their help desk people told me
that you can use any winsock program -- so you can use Pegasus, Eudora,
Email Connection, Pronto or whichever email program you choose!!! And have
you been trying out Juno or Freemark but you've been disappointed because
they don't have web access??? Fret no more... AT&T WorldNet lets you have
full connectivity -- which includes full access to the web. No ads... no
gimmicks. Straight www connection. Let's see. You were subscribing to
Compuserve previously, so you were spending $9.95 for 12 months or some
$119.40. Now that you'll be switching to AT&T mail, you first of all pay
off your Brigada Today subscription
price FOR THE NEXT YEAR with the
money you saved right up front! Let's see... now you've got $119.40
remaining.
You subscribe to MAFxc so you can have your mail forwarded
when you switch addresses like this
and so you can start a cool Brigada
conference for the unreached people group you want to reach (if you're
interested write to
info@xc.org -- don't write to Brigada; we don't work
for MAF!), . . . that's $52 for a full year ... which still leaves you
$67.40. Can you believe you were about to pay more for your email
service than you would have for an xc.org address and a cool Brigada
email conference of your own???? Next, you can take your wife (or husband,
. . . whichever the case may be
) out to eat at a nice restaurant three
times ... spend about $20/instance, . . . and still have $7.40 left over to
open a bank account to start saving for your next family car!!! Now what a
deal, folks!
And that was money you
were going to spend anyway!!!
Seriously, why would anyone want to keep paying $9.95 for a Compuserve or
AOL connection... which is still only going to give you the same number of
hours of free connectivity to the Internet????!!! Duh... Get it for free
folks.. from AT&T. If they want to give this stuff away, gang, I say we
support their crazy habit!
One catch... after the first year, they
start charging.
But if you buy the xc.org address, then next year
this time, you switch to some other looney tune
who is running the same
kind of special... and none of your friends even know it because you've got
a stable email address with MAFxc! Too good to be true??? Check me out.
It's for real.

LUIS BUSH REQUESTS PRAYER...
Luis Bush, Director of the AD2000 &
Beyond Movement, wrote this past week to request prayer for the National
Consultation of Evangelism, which continues through September 29. According
to Luis, "This is a crucial meeting with great potential for harvesting of
the fields of India over the next few years. In the words of Ebe Sunde Raj,
General Secretary of the IMA, the sponsoring body for the consultation,
'The Lord has enabled us to see the progress in several fronts and failures
and mistakes in others. We trust that this consultation will facilitate
all of us to share our success and failures, wisdom and blunders to learn
from one another, plan together and enter into partnership to reach our
mother land with the gospel.' Please take a moment right now and bow in
prayer for Luis and all others who have gathered there. In his opening,
keynote address, Luis wrote, "This is a unique moment in India. The Spirit
of God is moving, perhaps as never before. The church in India is stirring
and reaching out. And the threat of militant Hindu fundamentalism looms
across the landscape. For now, there is a window still open in India.
Let us say with the Apostle Paul 'And that, knowing the time, that now it
is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than
when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand:' (Romans 13:11-12)
We must do what we can when we can. Now is India's time. We
dare not let it pass." We agree Luis. 100% with you.

MORE ON TRAVELING EMAIL
Last week we mentioned that several services
would provide you with a forwarding function... so that whichever email
address you chose to use, you could redirect your mail to that address.
What we didn't mention was that MAFxc's service can make it look like
you're writing from that address, even if you aren't!
You send your
outbound email through their server with a special command and the mail
actually looks like it originated from your xc.org address. Pete Holzmann,
who reminded me of this difference, doesn't know of any other
service on the net that's letting you pull that off. Thanks for the clarification,
Pete. In other news, Bill Crandall (a missionary in Ecuador) suggested we
look at
http://netaddress.usa.net as a possible alternative. These guys
give you a free address forwarding service, then tack on a small
advertisement at the end of each forwarded note. I tried it for awhile,
... and for the most part it works. It did introduce quite a delay in the
mail at times, evidently depending on how busy their hub is. Thanks Bill!

CIN ANNOUNCES INTERNATIONAL PRAYER TRAINING CONFERENCE
Bev Pegues
wrote yesterday afternoon to clue us in on a conference that sounds like it
should make its way onto the calendars of all worldwide prayer
intercessors! She wrote, "An international prayer training conference has
been scheduled for Wednesday, February 12th, through Saturday, February 15,
1997, entitled "Praying With Power: Empowering Ordinary People for
Extraordinary Exploits." The conference will be held at New Life Church
in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and is sponsored by the Christian
Information Network and the World Prayer Center. This practical training
conference is for prayer journeyers and home-based intercessors (those who
stay home and pray) and is designed to equip believers to pray effectively
and to empower teams to pray on the field. C. Peter Wagner will be
convening the conference. A list of speakers and plenary sessions will
soon be released, along with details of cost and schedule. Please contact
Christian Information Network at
73422.3471@compuserve.com and give them
your mailing address. That way you can be sure to receive the information
as soon as it is available. Please reserve these dates on your calendar for
this conference. This will give you the training you need for
participating in PRAYING THROUGH THE WINDOW III: THE UNREACHED PEOPLES, the
prayer emphasis that takes place from October 1, 1996, until October 31,
1997." Spread the news!

WEBWATCH
One user recommended we look at
http://members.tripod.com/~jroberts to see more info. on the issue of
ANONYMOUS traveling email addresses, which encode email with a password so
that only the intended email recipient can read the message. And Chris Hart
recommended
http://www.four11.com/ for "finding people" -- like your long,
lost Uncle Bob???
And here's something interesting. Our Brigada web
specialist (may he live forever!
) uncovered a "Spanish, Portuguese,
And Catalan Search Engine at
http://www.ogilvy.com/spanish/hisplink.htm.
Evidently, you can delve through "all 31 search engines of the
Spanish/Portuguese/Catalan world." Email Luis Delboy
ledelboy@earthlink.net for info. Thanks Bob!

NEW MOVIE ABOUT PROBLEMS FOR MUSLIM CONVERTS
Open Doors has produced
a video called "Behind the Sun". According to Rick Nolte, "It is an
excellent presentation of the problems that national believers in Muslim
countries are facing. The video chronicles the adventures/trials of a man
returning to his home (Muslim) country after converting to Christianity
during his college days in the US. It is about 1 hour long, and is
extremely well done (I've heard over $1 million was spent to make the
video). Although the man's story is fictional (I think), the
events/situations that he encounters are not - according to those familiar
with the middle-east." Rick "highly recommends" this video. It is both
informative and exciting. Open Doors can be reached at 1-800-788-5574 in
the USA. Rick can probably direct you to other contact points -- write him
at
Rick.C.Nolte@den.mmc.com. Thanks Rick!

AUSSIES LAUNCH NEW FRONTIER MEDIA SCHOOL
Straight from down under
comes this note: "To Every Peoples...Together we Can do it! All of us are
needed to do our part and implement new initiatives to finish the task of
world evangelization. In answer to that call, we have started a yearly
School of Frontier Media (SFM) in Perth, Western Australia. The next school
runs from January 12th to June 27th, 1997. It has been fully accredited
with the University of the Nation, both under the College of Christian
Ministries and the College of Communications. For more information, contact
ConkeyCreate@XC.Org or see the web site at
http://www.iinet.net.au/~createit." Way to go Aussies!

AUDIO SCRIPTURE ORGS TO MERGE
In just a few short days, Audio
Scriptures International (ASI) and PRM International (PRM-I) will merge.
The name of the new organization will be AUDIO SCRIPTURE MINISTRIES (ASM),
an organization committed to making a major worldwide effort to see that
all translated New Testaments available in print form are also recorded and
made available in audio form. According to Harvey T. Hoekstra, former
President of ASI, "This effort arises from a conviction that we now have
the means to give non-readers the same opportunity to learn God's word by
listening as readers have by reading. It is a doable task and ASM hopes
to network with others in a revitalized effort to help facilitate this
foundational effort." The home office of the new organization will be in
the former PRM-I facility in Holland, MI. The audio Scripture
distribution/resource center will be from the former ASI location in
California. For more information about ASM's free catalog and its special
arrangements of Scripture on cassette for use as evangelistic tools to
cross the linguistic barrier in ethnic ministries, see their website
http://www.goshen.net/AudioScriptures.

NOW YOU CAN GET GENERATION X INFO IN MAGAZINE FORM!

one-half days deal with issues such as confronting, conflict management,
stress, drawing others out, problem solving, handling grief, moral purity,
and more. This workshop is for active missionaries, missionary candidates
and trainees, and missionary leaders. Trainers will be Ken Williams, Ph.D.,
an International Trainer with Wycliffe, Leta Van Meter, M.A., Coordinator
of Career Development with OC International, and Karen Carr, Ph.D., a

CLARIFIED ADDRESS FOR CYBERSPACE STUDY CANDIDATES
If you were
interested in Trinity's online theological education, please don't contact
<73524.1100@CompuServe.com>. Write to Dr. Dennis Frey
74774.3051@compuserve.com instead. Dr. Frey is Dean for the cyberspace
program. I guess Brigada Today readers
really do read this stuff! The
first address was "overwhelmed by requests" and got tired of forwarding
them!
Sorry!

GLOBAL GLIMPSE
"Missions researchers have agreed on a working
database of 1,739 ethnic groups from 133 countries as those who most need
missions efforts. This, the
Joshua Project 2000 list, is the first ever
database with wide acceptance in the missions community which actually
puts a priority on certain unreached groups. Of the 2.2 billion people on
the list, almost half of the world's population, a full 7% have no
reported Christians or Christian work among them at all. 430 million (more
than half of 1,739 the groups) have no church whatsoever. The good news is
that 85% of that 2.2 billion have some kind of ministry tools in their
language, including Bibles, Bible portions, cassettes, radio programs or
the Jesus film. Unfortunately, half of the people groups do not have any
such tools. It is also of note that 14% (246) of the JP groups (6% or 128
million of the JP population) have an established church, but no ministry
tools. How can it be that people are coming to Christ and forming churches
without Bibles, Bible portions, cassettes, radio programs or the Jesus
film? Hmmmm..."
Global Glimpse is compiled each week by John Hanna
JHanna@XC.Org, Caleb Project, Littleton, CO. You can see Caleb Project's
