WEB EVANGELISM INFO
Don't forget
http://www.brigada.org/today/articles/web-evangelism.html, which covers
how Web evangelism differs from the printed page. Included are ways of
writing pages and testimonies that communicate, new strategies for page
subjects, different language web-pages, how to exploit "search engines" to
bring visitors to your site, witnessing on newsgroups, plus many links to
other Web resources. Thanks again to SOON Online Magazine for this info!

MORE ON "WHERE TO BUY"
Are you still trying to find the best
prices (on everything)??? Check out Computer ESP, which gives a
comparative list of equipment with actual "Street" Prices See
http://www.uvision.com/, "The Guide To Where To Buy over 100,000 Computer
Products. ComputerESP scans and compares over a million prices from major
computer cyberstores in Canada and US and updates over 100,000 prices a day
on average. Search by keyword or browse by category. Also, David suggests
that auctions can sometimes give great buys. For a major list of auctions see:
http://www.usaweb.com/auction.html. Two common computer auctions are:
Onsale at:
http://www.onsale.com/ and AuctionX at
http://www.auctionx.com/. Prices are typically best on a public holiday,
good on Tuesday or Wednesday, and worst over the weekend. Thanks David!

IF YOU CHOOSE TO SEND IN A RESOURCE TO BRIGADA TODAY...
You can make our job lots easier.
First, news contributors and others should write to either
<owner-brigada@brigada.org> [for administrative or problem requests] or to
DLucas@TeamExpansion.org to contribute something to
Brigada Today. (In other words, please don't assume you can use
as an address for Doug Lucas (or others who volunteer to make Brigada possible).)
Secondly, please make the items brief -- 10 lines max, if
possible. Please do not subscribe us to lists or simply cc: us on your
press releases. If you'd like to contribute something, please get to know
the nature of Brigada Today items...
paragraphs not 3 page news releases.
Third, please enclose <email@addresses> and
<http://worldwide.web.URLs> in pointy braces.
Fourth, if possible, don't
use 1st person in your item -- use 3rd person instead: "We hope to offer
such and such" should instead be "Missionary Books hopes to offer such and
such."
Thanks -- we appreciate your help in bringing the very best
resources and news -- in the very best way possible -- to the
6500 Brigada Today participants!

MISSION PASTORS UNITE!
In association with ACMC, a new mission
enterprise is on the way to launch. For several years, several mission's
pastors across the country have being slowing etching out a new
organization called The National Association of Mission Pastors (NAMP). We
are pleased to announce the first meeting of the new organization will be
hosted by the ACMC during their national conference in June 1998! Convened
by Dr Sam Earp, mission pastor at South Valley Christian Church, 590
Shawnee Lane, San Jose, Ca 95123, NAMP seeks to assist in the personal and
professional development of mission pastors who serve the local church.
ACMC will have an ongoing sponsoring relationship with NAMP and the two
independent organization anticipate a dramatic impact for mission pastors
in the future. For additional information, contact Dr Sam Earp at
Buntline@AOL.Com or at the above address. Or contact Rev David Meade at
the ACMC office in Atlanta, Georgia.

HOW TO LEARN ABOUT MOST ANYTHING
http://www.ebig.com, that's how.
Basically the editors of the Encyclopedia Britannica have done all the
WWW searching for you at this site. The editors of EB evaluated 65,000 WWW
sites and divided them into topics and subtopics. Apparently they took only
authoritative, trustworthy and high-quality sites on each topic, rating
them from 3 stars (Best of the Web) to no stars (Noteworthy). Even the no
stars are good sites in their opinion. This site can be very useful in
addition to standard WWW search engines. (Hats off to Dan at the AD2000
International Office!)

URGENT MESSAGE ABOUT "JOIN THE CREW"
If you receive a message about
"Join the Crew" (a new email virus), just trash it. It's all myth. You
can't get a virus by reading ASCII email. However, you might get a virus
by opening up an executable that someone sends you as an attachment. So -
please don't relay attached executable files unless the recipient requests
you do so. As a matter of course, I automatically delete all attached
executables without opening them -- unless I specifically know the nature
of the file and check it first with Norton Antivirus. Again -- you can't
get a virus by reading ASCII email. In these and all other cases, check out
"urban legends" at Symantec's antivirus page, which begins at
http://www.symantec.com.

HOW TO GET YOUR CONGREGATION INVOLVED IN MISSIONS
ACMC has just
released a new workbook entitled,
How to Get Your Congregation Involved in Missions, by David Mays. This easy-to-use manual includes bullet lists
and worksheets for your mission leadership team. Topics include applying
the principles from your most effective church programs, promoting and
communicating in today's world, integrating missions throughout the church,
and exploring creative possibilities for individual involvement. The book
is available from ACMC-ChurchMart for $6.25. Call 1-800-798-ACMC.

GERMAN CONGREGATIONS ADOPT UNREACHED PEOPLES
Participants at the
third Mission 2000 conference, held on the premises of YWAM Bispingen,
Germany, adopted 42 unreached people groups. At the end of the conference,
a short-term team was sent to one of the world's most isolated people
groups, with the eventual goal of helping to establish a church among them.
The conference was jointly organized by AIMS-Germany in partnership with a
branch of YWAM North Germany. To learn more about this conference and how
unreached people groups were adopted there, contact the Association of
International Mission Services (AIMS) at
aims@aims-usa.org or call
(757)-579-5850."

INFO ON REACHING THE WORLD CUP
Interested in helping reach those
traveling to France for the World Cup? One Brigada participant, John
McVay, just wrote, "Greetings from Paris, France, and the Centre
Evangelique conference held 17-18 November. While there, I learned about
outreach plans for "Coupe De Monde" 10 June - 12 July 1998. French churches
and missions are working together under the coordination of Sport &
Faith's director Gerard Lanniee (a staffer with the French Campus Crusade
for Christ). He has prepared an excellent 24 page presentation booklet (in
French) that includes the contact info, including e-mail addresses, of 11
mission bases in France that are mobilizing for this outreach. Another
nine overseas missions are organizing groups from Canada, USA, Great
Britain, Germany, Spain, South Africa, Czechoslovakia and many other
countries. Planned activities include soccer matches with Christian teams,
street ministry with mime and puppets, book stands, concerts, distribution
of the Jesus film, New Testaments for sports people, visitation to prisons
and hospitals. And for those who may have missed the Brigada passion for
soccer, Doug's not the only enthusiast. This is an Olympic-sized event -
with 32 countries participating in 64 matches over 33 days in 10 different
French cities. For info e-mail
sportfoi@aol.com."
(Ed. Note: Somehow I
believe that eventually St. Peter will require all entrants into Heaven
to love soccer. Okay -- maybe I'm exaggerating a little.
