"Greetings, and thanks for Brigada!"Thought I would drop you a line about progress towards completion of OW.
"For prayer: Operation World nears completion, but in the final months before our deadline of 30 June 2001 we must squeeze in about 6 months of work! We value prayer. The huge printing press in the USA is booked for July and we cannot miss our long-fixed slot. Publication is due in early September and the book will be launched on Logos 2 in London Sept 8 and at the EFMA/IFMA jamboree in Florida a few days later. Pray that this may happen! It involves five of us working flat out - me often 14 hours a day.
"Progress to date. We have now completed the draft of the text for every country, and these have been distributed to thousands of respondents for checking. This edition will be the most checked of any hitherto - because of the gift of e-mail, but mistakes, unnecessary errors needlessly painful comments are all possible for we are human! Please pray for objectivity and incisiveness as well as speed!
"We are now writing up the Special Ministries and the Regional summaries. I have just completed Africa and am now tackling the Americas then comes massive, complex Asia.
"In this edition we are beginning the text on most countries with Answers to Prayer - God has done so much in our world over the past decade and we want to ensure He gets the glory for His power revealed in answer to our prayers! Regional totals emerging show that for Evangelicals the 1990s was probably the greatest harvest ever.
Yours in Jesus,
Patrick Johnstone
Here at Brigada, we hold Patrick in the highest respect, so when he takes time to personally write and ask for prayer, we listen! So we urgently covet your prayers on his behalf and on that of the entire OW staff! Please take a moment right now to remember his requests!
Participants will be ministering in the largest city in Canada's predominantly French-speaking province of Quebec, which several evangelical ministries have labeled as the least evangelized area of North America. For more information, contact David at brazzeals@canada.com or check out http://www.prayforquebec.com.
"The WorldWide Day of Prayer for Children at Risk", held on the first Saturday on June each year, is sponsored by Viva Network, PO Box 633, Oxford OX2 0XZ. A prayer information pack is available by mail or on the web at http://www.viva.org. The pack is free and has lots of imaginative suggestions for organizing a prayer event including stuff for the kids. Don't miss the 2nd June 2001. Contact Alan areed@viva.org.
Those with unreliable or expensive Internet service can now interface with GEO by e-mail. GEO recruits Christian craftsmen, hobbyists, artisans, and professionals to give practical information and assistance to missionaries. "Email only" clients can begin by sending an email to Index@teamgeo.org; an automated response will give further information. Those preferring secure communications can send an email to Smalltalk@teamgeo.org; this automated response contains no sensitive language or information. All others should interface with GEO through their website http://www.teamgeo.org or regular e-mail address mail@teamgeo.org. TO UNSUBSCRIBE -- Send email to brigada-today-unsubscribe@egroups.com. (Subject and text are ignored.)
IF IT DOESN'T WORK -- Write Don & Judy, our Customer Services Managers at help@brigada.org. Yahooooo for volunteers!!!

these materials, including those available through email autoresponders, provided that such redistribution is to those who

IMPORTANT: To copy or reproduce Brigada Today for any other reason is illegal and is not permitted.
DISCLAIMER -- Please note that there's no way we can possibly screen all the text on all the web sites or items we recommend. We try to
check them out first... but if we miss something, please don't assume that the opinions on those sites are identical to those
of the Brigada family of networks. "Eat the corn, leave
the cob!"

SUBMITTING CONTENT -- To submit content or ideas to Brigada Today, first please get a copy of "Guidelines for submitting items to Brigada"
Then, once you've composed your item in keeping with those guidelines, send your item for Brigada Today to DLucas@teamexpansion.org.
Thanks to <eGroups.com> for hosting the Brigada mailing list.
Emphasis is placed on items relating to unreached peoples and challenges faced by those reaching them cross-culturally.
PLEASE DON'T SUBSCRIBE US TO YOUR LIST -- It's always better to ask before manually force-adding anyone to your list-serve or mailing list. Recently, tons of well-meaning people have been subscribing Doug to their lists. Since he often travels overseas, he doesn't join many of those, for obvious reasons (like being charged big-time for overseas access). So as a general rule, please don't bulk-mail us! See the note above if you'd like to submit items for Brigada Today. Thanks for understanding. Bottom line: We will never create Brigada Today items from bulk mail. Bulk mail gets deleted immediately -- sorry. Nothing personal. We suggest you apply the same standard to everyone. Ask first!
WARNING ABOUT FORWARDING EMAILS -- Please, before forwarding any kind of request (even if it says
"please send this to all your friends"), please check to
make sure it has a VERIFIABLE ORIGIN, a VERIFIABLE PURPOSE, and a
VERIFIABLE CLOSURE (OPC). By following this simple approach, many
"email viruses" could be nipped in the bud... at least in the Brigada family. More information about the full Brigada OPC protocol is available. Thank you.
