CAUTION: RUMBLES ABOUT PAYPAL

We're beginning to hear it from more than one source. Though we haven't personally experienced any problems with PayPal, we're starting to wonder... have they extended themselves beyond what they're able to manage? We're currently in the process of verifying a couple of horror stories that we've heard out there in the Internet "jungle". So... for now... be cautious and we'd suggest you not tie up a *lot* of money there in a standing balance. Apparently, there are some problems in the system. If you've got a PayPal horror story, please send it to DLucas@TeamExpansion.org with subject line PAYPAL FEEDBACK. Thanks.

WHERE DO YOU TURN FOR EVANGELISTIC COURSES?

Suppose you're trying to share your faith with an Italian. You wish that there could be some kind of movie or outline in his or her heart language -- Italian, in this case. Where does one go to find resources like that? Is there any one source... like a web-page or a toll-free number where we can all go to find sources for evangelistic material in other languages (not *just* Italian... no *sono* Italiano :-) )? If so, let's publish promote it. If not, someone needs to probably *start* it! :-) If you've got an idea, write me here at <DLucas@TeamExpansion.org> and, if you'd be so kind, put the word "OUTREACH" in upper case in the subject line. Thanks for any lead -- a website, an organization, a toll-free number, even an email address. We'll republish the info here for the world to read.

WEB-WATCH: WORLDCHRISTIANS.ORG

They say it was here in Brigada that worldchristians.org launched its website not three years ago. Imagine that within the next week they should pass 1,000,000 hits! They had hoped for maybe 5,000 visits in their first year. What's more, they've opened tons of new Schools of Missions, and the news page traffic is unbelievable which reflects the world interest in following the call of Jesus into mission. It's worth a look, if for no other reason than to take note of what's hot...

CORRECTION ON "NEW BOOK ON ISLAM"

Remember that new book on Islam by Don McCurry, _Healing the Broken Family of Abraham: New Life for Muslims_? (We featured it in last week's _Brigada Today_, Item #10.) It explores the roots of Islam through the family of Abraham, historical and cultural aspects of Islam, and effective ministry help. Turns out that the telephone number provided to us was incorrect. The correct toll-free number was supposed to be +1-800-474-4147. (Or avoid the whole phone thing and look at http://www.isionline.org .) Please pardon any inconvenience!

THE BACK PAGE: THANKSGIVING HAS ALL THE MORE MEANING

Bob Mayhew's legacy lives on. His memorial fund hasn't attracted a *lot* of donors yet... but I guess it really only took two. One Brigada participant jumped right in and gave $10 in special tribute. We only received one other donation -- but that one other donation basically covered the remainder of what we'll owe for Brigada web-hosting fees and email services. What's more, the donor wishes to remain anonymous. "Only for the glory of God," he said. Goodness... as a tribute to Bob's 6 years of quiet service... and for the glory of God... $500 will pay all of Brigada's expenses for a year. (In case you're curious, Brigada pays no salaries.) So thanks much to the sacrificial friend... and in Bob's name, and God's name, Happy Thanksgiving to the whole Brigada family.

not symbolPLEASE DON'T SUBSCRIBE US TO YOUR LIST -- It's always better to ask before manually force-adding anyone to your list-serve or mailing list. Recently, tons of well-meaning people have been subscribing Doug to their lists. Since he often travels overseas, he doesn't join many of those, for obvious reasons (like being charged big-time for overseas access). So as a general rule, please don't bulk-mail us! See the note above if you'd like to submit items for Brigada Today. Thanks for understanding. Bottom line: We will never create Brigada Today items from bulk mail. Bulk mail gets deleted immediately -- sorry. Nothing personal. We suggest you apply the same standard to everyone. Ask first!

OPCWARNING ABOUT FORWARDING EMAILS -- Please, before forwarding any kind of request (even if it says "please send this to all your friends"), please check to make sure it has a VERIFIABLE ORIGIN, a VERIFIABLE PURPOSE, and a VERIFIABLE CLOSURE (OPC). By following this simple approach, many "email viruses" could be nipped in the bud... at least in the Brigada family. More information about the full Brigada OPC protocol is available. Thank you.
