  1. AMAZED AT YOUR PARTNERSHIP! -- I remain overwhelmingly amazed by the expression of partnership. One contributor wrote, " Doug, It is my joy to give. Thanks for the PayPal link, made it so easy to respond. As a missionary I remind myself and encourage others to make it easy for folks to give. I really appreciate you and the team. In His Harvest, E.V." Thanks to the Irving Bible Church, Irving, TX (which sent a $75 sponsorship gift), Jeff Gulleson, Good Neighbor Insurance, 620 S. Winthrop St., Gilbert, AZ 85296 (a $50 sponsorship), some additional anonymous givers, Mark Roth...and Anabaptist Bookstore (http://www.anabaptistbooks.com) -- online source for curriculum from Christian Light Education and Rod & Staff Publishers (Thanks for a $50 sponsorship), Asbury United Methodist Church in Tulsa, OK (again! this time for $200!!!), and Global Mapping (GMI) (thanks for a $300 sponsorship!). These fantastic co-laborers have been added to our sponsors page at: www.brigada.org then click on "Sponsors" Thanks to your gifts, we've made good progress on our campaign to underwrite the cost of a secretary and other costs to help keep Brigada afloat! And thanks to your gifts, Brigada now has a secretary... at least for the coming 1.5 months! (That's about how much sponsorship we've received so far.) And thanks to your gifts, we're catching up on a back-log of Brigada Today editions that were way too far delayed. Thanks for your patience!!!

  2. NO THANKS, PLAXO -- I continue to be unimpressed by Plaxo and it's haunting "pings". One user ("Tom") wrote recently to say that once he had installed Plaxo, his version of Microsoft Outlook would no longer open. Plaxo has acknowledged a bug with certain versions of Outlook. Memo to Plaxo and all those using it: No thanks. Call me stubborn, if you like. Maybe I just don't like being pushed into things by a show of force. Plaxo users, you can update my information manually if you like, but I won't be answering any Plaxo pings. Count on it. The last thing our Internet uses is a barrage of additional bandwidth wasters, pinging us just to make sure our address is still the same. Yikes.

  3. BRIGADA-TODAY WILL NO LONGER USE POINTY BRACES -- As of this edition, Brigada Today will no longer be using "pointy braces" to demarcate email addresses. Apparently some email clients (most notably Earthlink webmail) were mistakenly considering pointy braces as demarcations for websites. As a result, the email address was "invisible" to the user. We've changed the "Brigada Submissions" guidelines to reflect the new approach. Note that we're also now dropping periods from the ends of lines ending in URLs or email addresses.

  4. BIBLIOTECA ELECTRONICA MUNDO HISPANO EN CD -- Editorial Mundo Hispano/Casa Bautista de Publicaciones has recently produced a CD which contains reference helps in Spanish for Bible teachers, students, preachers, and pastors. It includes 25 titles, such as: La Biblia RVA (Updated Reina-Valera Bible); La Biblia Nueva Versión Internacional (NIV Bible); Nuevo Comentario Bíblico Siglo Veintiuno (New Bible Commentary, 21st Century Edition); Diccionario Bíblico Mundo Hispano (Hispanic World Bible Dictionary); Geografía Bíblica (Bible Geography); La Biblia y su interpretación (The Bible and its Interpretation); Concordancia temática (Topical Concordance of the Bible); and many others. The price is $30. For more information, including system requirements, visit: http://www.casabautista.org

  5. SEARCHING FOR PRAYER INTERCESSORS FOR VIETNAMESE -- Paraclete Ministries - Southeast Asia, Ltd. is looking for intercessors to sign up to pray through their website: http:www.prayforvietnam.org for the Vietnamese people in Cambodia who are a hidden and unreached people group.
