A Brigada subscriber recently asked about Grouply.com, a subscription service (kind of like plaxo on steroids), because it was reputed to be troublesome for those subscribed to Googlegroups and others like it. I was glad to be able to reassure her that Grouply.com only poses a threat for online groups that reveal membership lists to group members. In Brigada’s case, the subscription list is completely private — so no one can access, download, steal, or copy the list. In light of the Grouply.com threat, you might want to consider your membership in *other* email lists (if those lists make the membership list visible to other members), but as far as Brigada is concerned, you’re safe. In 13 years of Brigada history, you’ve never been spammed nor has the list been compromised.
